Used 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Buying Guide for the Chevrolet TrailBlazer:
2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Review:
The Chevrolet TrailBlazer was given its name for obvious
reasons. It has the ability to set off on little-used trails,
powering over uneven terrain and through the brush in order
to…well…blaze a new path. So you see, the name is appropriate.
For everyday driving—during the week or for more sedated
hours—the TrailBlazer has the type of ride that makes comfort
its primary target. Not a luxury vehicle, the TrailBlazer
nevertheless still appoints a nice amount of standard equipment
with its models.
For 2004, the TrailBlazer rolls in with a number of new features.
It has new wheels, more options, new exterior colors and new
interior fabric changes. As with last year, the 2004 TrailBlazer
is also offered as a special North Face Edition, a must for
true outdoor enthusiasts.
Under the Hood
The sole powertrain for both LS and LT TrailBlazer models
is a 4.2-liter inline Vortec 6-cylinder engine. Mated to a
standard 4-speed automatic transmission, it can produce 275
horsepower at 6000 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm.
There is nothing surprising about the fact that 2004 TrailBlazers
can be fitted with both two-wheel drive configurations and
four-wheel drive configurations. What may be surprising is
the SUV’s handling ability, which is in part due to its hydraulically-assisted
power rack-and-pinion steering.
Structural rigidity is key to the TrailBlazer’s precise road
manners. It features steel frame side rails that form a strong
foundation for the truck's overall strength, optimum structural
feel and ride quality. The frame's torsional stiffness also
helps the performance of suspension components.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The TrailBlazer has four doors and two rows of seating for
a capacity of five. It offers a practical total cargo volume
of 80.1 cubic feet.
For 2004, the TrailBlazer gives drivers optional adjustable
brake and accelerator pedals. They can be shifted rearward
by nearly three inches, giving you the ability to tailor them
to your comfort level. Also newly available for 2004 are XM
Satellite Radio and Navigation Radio.
If you really want to blaze a new path, you’re best bet lies
with The North Face Edition package. It includes standard
unique 17-inch sport aluminum wheels, lower accent-color body
cladding, body-colored outside rearview mirrors, running lamps,
headlamp washers, B-pillar badging and a number of handy interior
features. |
