Used 2004 Chevrolet Venture Extended Length
Buying Guide for the Chevrolet Venture Extended Length:
The extended length Venture model tacks on eight inches to
the wheelbase of the regular length model. It also adds an
extra trim, giving customers more variety to choose from.
With up to eight-passenger seating, the extended length Venture
is a people mover, to say the least. And it is also a cargo
carrier. The stowable third-row seat and flat-folding captain's
chairs offer up to 140.7 cubic feet. As Chevy puts it, that’s
enough room for 4-by-8-foot sheets of plywood with the liftgate
closed. The third row also stows to create a flat load surface
For 2004, all Venture models offer more entertainment options,
new colors and more ordering flexibility. Aiming to become
the premier minivan on the road, the 2004 Venture is ready
and waiting to serve.
Under the Hood
The extended length Chevrolet Venture has the same 3.4-liter
V6 engine as the regular length model. It is mated to a 4-speed
electronic automatic overdrive transmission, and will generate
185 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000
rpm.
Rack-and-pinion steering and independent front/semi-independent
rear suspension let drivers handle the Venture without much
difficulty. It can take tight turns or roll over bumpy roads,
or do it all at once.
For added safety, Venture offers an optional AWD package.
It includes Versatrak all-wheel drive, 16-inch aluminum wheels
and tires, four-wheel disc brakes and a fully independent
rear touring suspension. With the Versatrak system, if one
or both front wheels lose grip, it comes into action progressively,
with no buttons to push or levers to throw.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
Behind the Venture’s third row is a thoughtfully placed convenience
center. It has three compartments, the middle of which is
sealed for wet items, for easy organizing.
The 2004 Venture’s safety package includes four-wheel antilock
brakes, driver and front-passenger airbags, driver and passenger
side-impact airbags and child security rear door locks. The
LATCH (Lower Anchorages and Tethers for Children) system is
standard and independent of the vehicle safety belts. LATCH
enables parents to securely attach child safety seats without
even using the vehicle's seat belts.
An available in-vehicle DVD-based entertainment system plays
DVD video, DVD audio and CDs. It includes a flat, flip-down,
7-inch video screen, two wireless headphones and a wireless
remote control. It's standard on all-wheel-drive LT models.
