Used 2004 Chevrolet Venture
Buying Guide for the Chevrolet Venture:
The Chevrolet Venture is a versatile minivan fit for families
that are always on the move. Whether it’s repeated trips to
the grocery store, long treks to visit the grandparents or
daily practices, the Venture aims to do the job consistently
well.
Safety is one feature given particular attention with the
2004 Venture. It offers four-wheel antilock brakes, driver
and front-passenger airbags, driver and passenger side-impact
airbags and child security rear door locks. The LATCH (Lower
Anchorages and Tethers for Children) system is standard and
independent of the vehicle safety belts. LATCH enables parents
to securely attach child safety seats without even using the
vehicle's seat belts.
For 2004, the Venture features new equipment packages, more
options and new colors to choose from. In other words, the
2004 Venture is even better than last year.
Under the Hood
The Chevrolet Venture employs a 3.4-liter V6 engine to handle
the driving. It is mated to a 4-speed electronic automatic
overdrive transmission, and can generate 185 horsepower at
5200 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.
Though a big minivan (even bigger as an extended length model,
covered separately), the front-wheel drive Venture gets a
nice fuel rating. In the city, it averages 19 mpg, while cruising
on the highway gets you 26 mpg.
For added safety, Venture offers an optional AWD package.
It includes Versatrak all-wheel drive, 16-inch aluminum wheels
and tires, four-wheel disc brakes and a fully independent
rear touring suspension.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The Venture was designed with functionality in mind. Its
low step-in height and standard dual sliding rear doors allow
everyone to enter and exit with ease. Available dual power
sliding doors make it that much easier.
The regular length Venture is offered in Plus and LS trims.
The LS is the more feature-heavy (and consequently more expensive)
of the two. For 2004, there is also an optional LS Easy Order
Package, which includes a power door, a power seat, a cargo
net, illuminated visor mirrors, rear HVAC, aluminum wheels
and luggage rack rails.
An available in-vehicle DVD-based entertainment system plays
DVD video, DVD audio and CDs. It includes a flat, flip-down,
7-inch video screen, two wireless headphones and a wireless
remote control. It's standard on all-wheel-drive LT models.
