Used 2004 Chrysler 300M

Buying Guide for the Chrysler 300M:

Back for another year of adventure, the 2004 Chrysler 300M hopes to keep the momentum going from 2003. The 300M is a four-door, near-luxury sedan that seats five without a hitch. Offered in a standard base model and a performance-driven Special model, the 300M is a modest vehicle that provides plenty of comfort, a nice touch of style and enough power to get you where you need to go.

The 300M has the same basic structure as its brother the Concorde and its cousin the Dodge Intrepid. As such, all three are given a similar upgrade in construction for 2004. They are built on a new "LX" platform that trades front-wheel drive and "cab forward" architecture for rear drive. This results is a longer wheelbase and more conventional looks.

Under the Hood

The life force of the 2004 Chrysler 300M is a 3.5-liter V6 engine. It generates 250 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 3900 rpm. The engine inside the Special is given a bit of a performance tweek, resulting in an output of 255 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Both models have four-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift feature.

The 300M’s sophisticated underpinning has a four-wheel, fully independent suspension that is available in three states of tune. There is standard touring, an optional performance upgrade for maximum cornering power (part of the Performance Handling Group), and sport-tuned (standard on the Special). All 300M models are equipped with traction control, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and dual front airbags. Front side airbags are optional.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The 2004 Chrysler 300M is fitted with a number of premium appointments to make long rides enjoyable. Leather upholstery is standard, as is an Infinity AM/FM/CD player, an analog clock, air conditioning with automatic climate control and a trip computer. For those cold days, heated driver and front passenger seats will certainly come in handy. A memory system for the radio, driver seat and mirrors remembers everything for you.

There are a number options packages and individual add-ons to choose from. The Performance Handling Group infuses the base 300M with a bit more bite and handling capability. Satellite radio, a navigation system, a power sunroof and special paint are also available.
