Used 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL
Buying Guide for the GMC Yukon Denali XL:
Improved safety tops the list
of upgrades with GMC’s premium full-size sport utility vehicle.
For 2004, both Denali models come with a new tire-pressure
monitoring system. It constantly monitors tire pressure and
alerts the driver via a chime and a telltale light in the
instrument panel if the air pressure drops below a specified
level.
Also new is a driver and right-front
passenger safety-belt reminder. It also uses a chime and a
light to tell front occupants if their safety belts haven't
been secured. It compliments the passenger-sensing system
that automatically deactivates the passenger frontal airbag
under certain conditions to help protect smaller occupants.
In addition to thorough safety
features, the Denali XL comes loaded with all sorts of convenience
appointments. It is bigger than the regular length Denali
model (covered separately), and uses this space to offer an
even more relaxing interior cabin.
Under the Hood
The 2004 GMC Yukon Denali
XL comes with 6.0-liter Vortec V8 with 325 horsepower at 5200
rpm and 365 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. 4-speed automatic
transmission with a tow/haul mode is standard. When towing,
it automatically shifts to a lower gear in situations to provide
more power and stability.
Yukon Denali models use an
advanced all-wheel drive system. It features a one-speed full-time,
open differential all-wheel-drive transfer case, which permits
flexible torque transfer. Its 40-percent front/60-percent
rear bias ratio also provides the necessary amount of front
torque for excellent yaw stability.
An Autoride suspension system
is also standard. It automatically adjusts the shock dampening
and includes a rear, air-assisted load-leveling system, designed
to keep the truck level when filled up with goods.
Standard Features, Options
Packages and Style
Though outfitted with numerous
style features and loaded with convenience appointments, the
Yukon Denali XL by no means shies away from hard work. A trailering
package is available for 2004; it now includes a new seven-to-four-pin
adapter and electric brake wiring harness, a hitch, a high-capacity
air cleaner and external transmission cooler.
The standard feature list
is long. A glimpse reveals just a few of the items: XM Satellite
Radio, the OnStar system, tri-zone automatic climate controls,
tone-on-tone leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel
with radio controls, power adjustable pedals and a Bose AM/FM/cassette
player with in-dash 6-disc CD changer.
Options include a power glass
sunroof, a rear seat DVD entertainment system, middle-row
bucket seats and Integrated Navigation Radio.
