Used 2004 Lincoln Navigator
Buying Guide for the Lincoln Navigator:
The Lincoln Navigator does everything in extreme. Its size
is gigantic. Its power fierce and unrelenting. Its style audacious,
neck jerking and robust. However, these traits are not a result
of any arrogance on the part of its manufacturers. Rather,
they are a necessity. If you want to make an imprint in the
competitive full-size luxury SUV segment, you have got to
bring your best. And the Navigator is Lincoln’s best.
The 2004 Lincoln Navigator is quite simply a huge, luxurious
SUV. On the heels of a major redesign in 2003, the 2004 model
receives several changes to equipment, colors and features.
Like its smaller brother the Aviator, the new Navigator now
comes with a standard tire-pressure monitoring system and
available Roll Stability Control for added safety.
Under the Hood
The responsibility of powering the massive Navigator is no
easy task. The engine chosen for this unrelenting duty is
a 5.4-liter V8 model that is able to bring 300 horsepower
at 5000 rpm and 355 lb-ft of torque at 2750 rpm. It is mated
to a four-speed automatic transmission with either two or
four-wheel drive, depending on what sort of tasks you may
have in store for your Navigator.
As happy on the road as it is romping in the mud, the Navigator
is every bit an SUV—don’t let its style and high class fool
you. And even though it is a huge vehicle, it still handles
quite well as a result of its four-wheel independent suspension,
rack-and-pinion steering and stiff frame.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The 2004 Navigator is big—that much is obvious. But to get
a real picture of the dimensions of this eight-seater, one
need only look at the numbers: a wheelbase of 118.8 inches,
a height of 77.8 inches, 80.2 inches of width and 104.7 cubic
feet of maximum cargo volume.
There are features for everything on the inside. Nothing
has been left out to ensure the comfort of driver and passengers
alike. Among the many that make this possible are dual electronic
automatic temperature controls, an AM/FM audiophile sound
system with in-dash 6-disc CD changer (includes front sail-mounted
tweeters and subwoofer), an analog clock, steering-wheel-mounted
audio and climate controls, leather seating surfaces (first
and second row) and more.
Options available with the 2004 Lincoln Navigator include
Lincolns’ DVD/Touch Screen Navigation System, a rear-seat
entertainment system and power running boards.
