Used 2004 Nissan Quest
Buying Guide for the Nissan Quest:
Laid to rest in 2001, the Nissan Quest was reanimated for
2004. Rising like a phoenix from the ashes, the new Quest
is not the minivan you once knew. For example, it

be one of the smallest minivans on the road, but now it has
the longest wheelbase and overall length in the entire class.
Things certainly have changed for the Quest. It is now built
in a new plant in Mississippi and it comes in three models.
Though it shares the same name with those tiny minivans from
the past, the 2004 Quest is really nothing like them. Bigger,
roomier and more powerful, it has the dimensions to satisfy
a new generation of minivan owner.
Under the Hood
The 2004 Quest is bigger, and therefore must be more powerful
than the previous version. Luckily the people at Nissan are
of the same thinking. They equipped the front-wheel drive
Quest with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 240 horsepower
at 5800 rpm and 242 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm.
The engine is mated to either a 4-speed automatic transmission
(S and SL models) or a 5-speed automatic transmission (SE
model). Either way, it’s hands-free shifting for the driver.
The Quest has a comprehensive safety package to protect loved
ones. All models have antilock brakes, front and curtain side
airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Top-line SE
models also have front side airbags and an antiskid system.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The 2004 Quest is able to handle seven passengers with its
three rows of seating. Second-row bucket seats are available
in combination with a third-row bench seat. Both seats fold
down to the floor, resulting in enough space to handle a 4x8
sheet of plywood.
The new Quest has a maximum towing capacity of 3500 lbs,
so you can trail a boat behind you for a nice relaxing trip
at the lake. While all Quest models are able to satisfy, the
SE’s leather seats, heated front seats and Bose AM/FM radio
player with in-dash 6-disc CD changer really impress.
Available features include a sunroof, a full-length overhead
console with air vents and reading lights, Nissan's Skyview
roof (four overhead glass roof panels), a rear-obstacle detection
system and rear DVD entertainment with one or two screens.
The 2004 Nissan Quest is nothing like the old model, and
that is probably a good thing.
