Used 2004 Volkswagen EuroVan
Buying Guide for the Volkswagen EuroVan:
The Volkswagen EuroVan has such a tradition and history,
the very sight of it is enough to conjure up scores of images
and memories. When the marketers at Volkswagen hear things
like that, they surely must smile.
Known for being a van that will last for years and years,
purchasing the EuroVan is an investment that continues to
pay dividends far down the road. You can take it virtually
anywhere, and many people have done so for years. Simply put,
the EuroVan is the quintessential icon of open-road freedom.
The people at Volkswagen are certainly aware of this aspect
of the EuroVan. To accommodate wandering souls, they offer
recreation-oriented MV (MultiVan) models and a long-wheelbase
Camper conversion with a stove, sink, furnace and refrigerator.
The Camper, however, is only available by special order.
Under the Hood
The EuroVan is the sole German-built and German-engineered
van sold in North America. It is equipped with a 4-valve-per-cylinder
version of Volkswagen’s renowned VR6 engine, which produces
201 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of peak torque at 2500 to 5500
rpm.
In addition, the EuroVan is one of the few vehicles in its
class to handle more than 1550 pounds of payload capacity
in combination with fully independent front and rear suspensions.
It is also the only van to offer a standard Electronic Stability
Program (ESP), a system that uses yaw and position sensors
to help automatically stabilize the vehicle in the event of
a sudden emergency maneuver.
The 2004 EuroVan comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are part of each and every EuroVan’s
standard features list, ensuring quick stopping times and
peace of mind.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
The three-door EuroVan is big enough to seat seven. Its cargo
volume is quite sizable, with the GLS model providing 178
cubic feet of passenger volume and 20 cu. ft. of luggage capacity.
The MV model has 187 cu. ft. of passenger volume with 19 cu.

If you don’t want to purchase the limited-order Camper version

roof with a two-person bed, window screens for two side sliding
windows, a fixed rear-facing seat on the driver’s side (with
