Used 2004 Volvo S80

Buying Guide for the Volvo S80:

When it comes to automobiles, change is a good thing. It means manufacturers are continually seeking new ways to make their models stronger, safer and more efficient. When a vehicle enters the new year with over 700 changes, you know its engineers have hard at work.

That’s exactly what Volvo has done with its S80 luxury sedan. There’s more standard equipment, an all-wheel drive model and a freshened styling for each and every trim.

If you like luxury in an extremely safe sedan, the S80 from Volvo has you covered.

Under the Hood

There are plenty of models to get to with the 2004 S80. The base 2.9 trim utilizes a 2.9-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 194 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 207 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. 4-speed automatic is the transmission.

In addition to being the only S80 model with all-wheel drive for exceptional handling control in all weather conditions, the 2.5T AWD also has its own engine. It is a 2.5-liter turbocharged I5 with 208 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 236 lb-ft of torque at 1500 rpm.

The fastest models of them all are the T6 and T6 Premier. Under their hood is a 2.9-liter turbocharged I6 with 268 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque at 1800 rpm. Their 4-speed automatic transmission features a manual-shift mode.

For 2004, the FOUR-C chassis is option on the 2.9, T6 and T6 Premier. FOUR-C provides two chassis-tuning two modes, which can be accessed from a single switch on the center console. The default mode is Comfort, providing optimal ride quality. Pushing the button selects the Sport mode for a slightly sportier ride with reduced body roll and rebound.

Standard Features, Options Packages and Style

The look of the 2004 S80 is nothing short of class. The sedan has new front and rear fascias and LED taillamps and new interior styling.

While all models are refined and comfortable to sit in, with front seats that power every which way for optimal comfort, the T6 Premier model is simply ridiculous. It has leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, a DVD player and a TV tuner, 2 rear screens and wireless headphones.

On top of that, there are options available. Some of the names from the list are a navigation system and a rear-obstacle detection system.
