2005 Used Chrysler Sebring Coupe Buying Guide
The 2005 Chrysler Sebring Coupe is a mid-size, mid-price but high-powered 2-door for drivers with a sense of enthusiasm. Generally speaking, coupes are built for style and performance. However, the Sebring Coupe designers recognized that people need their car for practical purposes as well, providing the Sebring Coupe with genuinely useful passenger and luggage space.
With room for five, a good fuel rating, yet plenty of passing punch, the Sebring Coupe is an easy one to sell to the practical spouse, man or woman as it serves these many purposes admirably. The choice of two generous trim levels, two available engines and a host of options packages just add to the attractiveness and the result has been top sales for Chrysler.
Under the Hood
The entry-level Coupe model is equipped with a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder SOHC engine that combines 142 horsepower at 5500 rpm with 155 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The 4-speed automatic transmission comes with while a 5-speed autostick manual-shift capability is available for a small additional cost on the Limited Coupe edition. With automatics, the coupe has a fuel rating of 21/28 mpg (city/highway), while manuals get 22/29 mpg (city/highway). The Base Coupe comes equipped with 205/60HR16 tires and fog lights.
Upgrade to the Limited model for a different power profile. Top-line Limited Coupe models come equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that pumps out 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 205 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. 4-Wheel disc brakes and fat, lower-profile 215/50R17 alloy wheels add to the performance.
Standard Features, Options Packages and Style
This year Sebring has simplified their offering slightly with a Base Coupe and a Limited Edition. Two truly different vehicles in terms of performance, as seen above, but similar in terms of interior amenity. Carrying through with the major facelift of 2003, and popular last year, the styling is still up-to-date and cool.
As for luxuries, they breakdown as follows: the Base Coupe has air conditioning, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a remote entry system and an AM/FM radio with in-dash 4-disc CD changer and power features across the board. The Limited adds upgraded audio and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls.
Optional extras can add some real pizzazz, though. The Touring or Leather Interior Groups both offer universal-garage door opener, a 6-way power driver seat, an automatic day/night rearview mirror, and a compass. Additionally, Touring includes an outside-temperature indicator while leather interior is just that - plush leather upholstery.
