2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Highlights:

This hot seller from Mazda has been left unchanged in 2010. The 2 seater convertible comes with the option of a manual folding soft-top or a power folding hard top. The former model of the SV has been discontinued. The 2 engines which take up their positions this year are the DOHC I41 and DOHC I42. The 4 cylindered I41, is a 2 liter engine, giving a power output of 167 hp and using a 5 speed manual transmission, returns a 22 MPG for mileage. The 6 speed manual option is also available for the buyers. The I42, uses a 2 liter engine again, but this one, gives a reduced 158 hp only. The difference is, this one has a 6 speed automatic transmission, which the I41 lacks. The engine gives a fuel economy of 21 again. The hard top does not take long to open/close. The clocked time for opening and closing as promised by Mazda is 12 seconds. It doesn’t rip off on the luggage space as well. Adding only 77 pounds to the car’s weight, the hard top is a great option for the MX5 Miata. The noise is a nag in the Miata though. Needs working upon.

Formula for calculating dealer cost:

  • Example: Base dealer Invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of Options + Destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost (calculated above) + Taxes/Licensing Fees - Rebate/Incentive = True Cost (You can get the rebates, incentives & invoice options pricing at Edmunds.)
