Chevrolet Cavalier !
The new 2001 Chevrolet
Cavalier has been around for some time, and this year offers
four models, Cavalier Coupe, Cavalier Sedan, Cavalier LS Sedan,
and Cavalier Z24 Coupe. Each model seats five passengers and
features a four-cylinder engine, and two-wheel front drive.
Safety standards
include ABS brakes, driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered
air bag, and side head protection air bag. Amenities range
from air conditioning to a theft deterrent system for peace
of mind while away from the vehicle. The rear seat also folds
down to increase luggage space and to accommodate longer items
such as paddles. An impressive array of options and packages
are available for each model.
Starting out first
is the Cavalier Coupe, a two-door vehicle with SOHC, five-speed
manual transmission, and 115 horsepower. Mileage checks in
at a respectable 24/34 (city/hwy), and the vehicle comes equipped
with all the standard features described above.
Base list price: $13,160
Next in the line
up is the Sedan, matching the previous model for features
and function. This model has four doors, making entering and
exiting the vehicle easier for all passengers. Child safety
locks have been installed to prevent mishaps with younger
travelers.
Base list price: $13,260
The LS Sedan follows
with upgrades such as four-speed automatic transmission and
the addition of traction control for safe navigation through
inclement weather conditions. At this level, the convenience
of cruise/speed control has been added, along with a tachometer
gauge, remote trunk/liftgate release, and steering wheel scope/tilt.
Rounding out the package is an AM/FM stereo with CD player
for the enjoyment of all passengers.
Base list price: $14,855
Finishing up at
the upper end of the line up is the sporty Z24 Coupe, a two-door
model with five-speed manual transmission. The camshaft has
been upgraded to a DOHC, thereby increasing the power capacity
to 150 horsepower. Front fog lights have been included to
cut through hazy evenings and the early morning on the way
to work. Power door locks and dual power mirrors have been
installed for convenience.
Base list price: $16,365
