2002 Honda Civic Sedan reviews and buying guide.

2002 Honda Civic resources:

2002 Honda Civic

Just about one of the most popular vehicles on the road, the new 2002 Honda Civic Sedan comes to us this year offering two models - Honda Civic DX Sedan and Honda Civic LX Sedan. Both models have four doors and a seating capacity of five passengers, and are each a practical and economical choice with versatility.

Measuring up the safety features of the Honda Civic DX Sedan first, we see standards such as three-point seatbelts, front and rear head restraints, child safety seat anchors and child safety locks in the rear, and both driver side and passenger side air bags. Side impact air bags are available as an option.

Luxuries include an AM/FM stereo with four speakers and a range of conveniences such as storage compartments, cup holders, rear defroster, and remote trunk release. The rear seat conveniently folds down to accommodate extra luggage, sports equipment, and other assorted gear.

Engine specifications for the Honda Civic DX Sedan include a 1.7-litre SOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with 115 horsepower and programmed fuel injection. Drive type is front wheel, and standard transmission is five-speed automatic with optional automatic transmission available. Each vehicle is equipped with variable power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and power assisted front disc and rear drum brakes.

The Honda Civic LX Sedan takes the base package and adds to it air conditioning with filter, AM/FM stereo with CD player, cruise control, power door locks, dual heated power mirrors, and power windows. The driver’s seat height is adjustable, and seatback storage pockets have been included in the package. A keyless entry system comes in handy for times when your hands are full or when it is too dark to fumble for your keys.

Key for increased safety in the Honda Civic LX Sedan is the addition of four-wheel anti-lock brakes. Statistics have proven time and time again the ABS brakes reduce the number and severity of accidents.

As a whole, it is no wonder that the Honda Civic Sedan has remained so popular even after all these years. It offers up enough choices at an economical cost to suit the needs of most drivers and families, and is often purchased as a second household vehicle. They last a long time, and resale value is excellent. Combined with light and responsive handling, the Civic Sedan gets our recommendation.
