Hyundai Elantra !
The attractive
new 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS Sedan is a responsive and energetic
vehicle that packs plenty of luxuries into its economical
price. Shifting is smooth, and overall the vehicle handles
well and accelerates quickly into fast-moving traffic. Seating
capacity is five passengers, with four-door entry and plenty
of luggage space.
Under the hood
is a four-cylinder engine with DOHC and 140 horsepower, with
five-speed manual transmission and two-wheel front drive.
Automatic transmission is available as an option. The fuel
rating checks in at a very respectable 25/33 (city/hwy), and
the vehicle is equipped with steel belted radials.
The Elantra GLS
covers a full range of safety standards, including driver
side air bag, passenger side air bag, side impact air bags,
and both front and rear head restraints. One interesting fact
is that a passenger air bag cut-off capability has been integrated
into the package, making it a rarity amongst sedans. For the
further protection of youngsters, child safety locks have
also been installed. ABS brakes are available as a package
for negotiating emergency braking situations and stopping
on slippery roads. To that end, traction control is also an
option.
Luxuries and conveniences
are numerous and can be added to suit the needs of all drivers
and passengers. Air conditioning is a standard comfort, as
are power door locks, dual power mirror, and power windows.
Drivers will appreciate the option of cruise/speed control
for longer highway trips, and everyone will enjoy the AM/FM
stereo with CD player package. A handy keyless entry system
can be added for times when hands are full or the parking
area is too dark to fumble with keys. For further peace of
mind, a theft deterrent system is offered. The rear seat conveniently
folds down to accommodate extra luggage and longer items such
as canoe paddles. Even a moonroof/sunroof can be added for
an extra touch of luxury and driving pleasure.
