Why Buy a 2015 Nissan Versa?

Should You Buy a 2015 Nissan Versa? Here Are Some Reasons For and Against

If you are in the market for a basic, subcompact car, the 2015 Nissan Versa warrants a much closer look. For the past four years, the Versa has been the top selling vehicle in its class; that doesn’t happen by accident. Take a look at our top ten list of reasons why you should consider buying the 2015 Nissan Versa.

Top Ten Reasons to Buy a 2015 Nissan Versa - The Pros

1. Fuel Economy

The Nissan Versa is advertised as getting 40MPG in highway mileage. That’s impressive in a time where workers are commuting further than ever and no one ever knows what price to expect when they pull in at the gas pump. Reviews of this vehicle from current owners mention that their gasoline savings have been tremendous since they purchased the Versa.

2. Trunk Space

The Versa touts nearly 15 cubic feet of trunk space- that’s huge! It’s significantly bigger than similar vehicles in its class such as the Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent, or Kia Rio. Having a small car doesn’t have to mean that you can’t take your own luggage to the airport!

3. Interior Space

Not only is the trunk spacious, but the inside of the car is as well! So if you need that head room or extra leg room, you’ve got it. A surprising finding about the interior space of the Versa is that it’s roomier than the latest 5 series BMW and the Mercedes Benz E-class.

4. Folding Rear Seat

Owning a small car often means you have to make sacrifices about what you can haul in the back or enlist the help of a friend who has a bigger car or truck when you need to make an odd-sized purchase. The Nissan Versa has folding rear seats that can lay down completely flat- extending that already spacious trunk even further.

5. Safety

While this is a very standard vehicle, Nissan didn’t try to save money by compromising safety. With six airbags in the vehicle to keep both front and back seat occupants safe, steel beams running along the side doors, and crumple zones in the front and rear of the vehicle, the Versa is safe and definitely measures up well against other vehicles in its class.

The standard model comes equipped with Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System and an auxiliary input jack for the audio system. Depending on which model Versa you choose, the list of technology features is strong enough for even the most demanding consumer. You can select from options that include keyless start, a touchscreen navigation system, and SirusXM Traffic.

7. Nissan Reliability

This base model Nissan still comes with all of the good manufacturing details you can expect from a Nissan. They are made well, require very little maintenance, and run forever. Ask around. It’s not uncommon for Nissan drivers to have hundreds of thousands of miles on their vehicles.

8. Nissan Aesthetic

The Versa is designed to look like it belongs in the family of Nissan vehicles. When you walk onto a Nissan car lot, the Versa fits right in and doesn’t look out of place. The front end design and the headlight spacing are all common characteristics of Nissan vehicles from the base model to their most expensive.

9. Manual or Automatic Transmission Choices

Everyone has an opinion about which is better, an automatic transmission or a manual one. Having the option to choose is a nice feature. Both are fuel efficient.

10. Price

There is no doubt that the 2015 Nissan Versa comes with some sticker shock. The S version starts out at $11,990. That’s right. You can purchase a brand new, quality vehicle for less than $12,000. Fully loaded with heated seats and a top notch technology package, the SL version comes in at a great price at only $16,890. Those prices may not be the sticker shock you were expecting! With the lowest MSRP in the USA, you have yet another reason to consider the 2015 Nissan Versa.

Reasons You May Not Want to Buy a 2015 Nissan Versa - The Cons

1. Basic Features

The base model is really basic. While that price is hard to pass up, one must understand exactly what concessions one is making in order to lock in a new vehicle purchase for under $12,000. Basic means manual windows, manual door locks, and manual mirrors. There’s not much automated outside the engine on this model.

2. Low Horsepower Engine

The reviews are mixed on this one, but it’s still worth mentioning. Some users say that the engine is fine and they have no complaints. That's probably be true if you are using the car for your everyday commute. On the highway, some users say that it seems slow getting up to speed. Driving uphill with the A/C on full blast may make the engine seem a little sluggish.

3.Interior Materials

The interior of the 2015 Versa has a lot of space and good features, but some reports indicate that the materials used in the interior are not the greatest. The interior does not look remarkable in any way. For long trips, the seats may not seem comfortable.
