Why Buy a 2016 Scion FR-S?

Should You Buy a 2016 Scion FR-S? Here Are Some Reasons For and Against

Not only will the 2016 Scion FR-S be one of the most affordable sports cars of the year, but its fuel economy is also quite impressive as well. The Scion will be competing against the likes of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Volkswagen GTI, and Ford Mustang. There hasn’t been a major revamp on the body, but it’s still has a chic sports car feel to it, completed by the wide alloy wheels.

There have been mixed feelings on the acceleration of the Scion FR-S; some are saying it has some lag to it while some consumers are satisfied by its smoothness. The EPA looks impressive on both trims and the suspension revised from the 2015 model, giving the sports car a more grounded feel.

Top 10 Reasons to Buy a 2016 Scion FR-S - The Pros

1) Unrivaled Fuel Economy

One thing the Scion FR-S will stand out for is the remarkable fuel economy it shows on the road. Test drivers marveled at the EPA score of 25 City and 34 Highway, which has been maintained after the major upgrade they made in 2014. The manual transmission model manages an EPA of 22 City and 30 Highway, still good news to the consumer as it gets competitive with the likes of the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

2) Amazing Exterior

There isn’t any noticeable tweak on the body though it still maintains that sporty look used on the 2015 model. It almost looks like an Aston Martin at a glance, and the consumer is getting the vehicle in different shades like hot lava, steel, oceanic, halo, asphalt, ablaze and raven. A rear spoiler will be added on the driver’s request.

3) Good Drive Train

The base Scion FR-S 2016 is a six-speed automatic transmission model with the option of a manual mode on request. Some critics weren’t impressed with the lag in between the shifts, but positive test drivers believe the transmission was quite responsive. A 6 speed may not be the highest in the market, but it still gives this vehicle an edge when speeding on the highways.

4) Great Entertainment Options

Standard entertainment options include an AM-FM Stereo, CD player, MP3 player and HD radio. It also features a premium sound system for a crispier music quality surpassing most of the sports cars missing this unique feature. The Mazda Miata 2016 misses out on HD radio and premium sound quality.

5) Spacious Cabin

Not only does the 2016 Scion FR-S handle well on the road, the cabin feels quite comfortable to be in. Sitting a maximum of two people, test drivers agree there is plenty of room in the cabin to fit the shortest or tallest driver. The headroom is about 37.4 inches, 43.1 inches for the leg room, and 52 inches on the hip room.

The driver has an option of setting their speed limit on the road thanks to the inbuilt cruise control option. The headlights come with auto-off sensors to determine when you need them on or not. Electronic control and traction control options are inclusive not forgetting daytime running and auto-level headlights at the front.

Just like other sports cars in its range, the Scion FR-S 2016 adds a few more specs to make cruising on the road a little easier. It’s fitted with an anti-theft system to track down the vehicle fast in case it goes missing. Beside keyless entry doors, the back trunk is also conveniently released through a remote. More specs on the vehicle include intermittent wipers, driver, and passenger vanity mirrors as well as a readily adjustable steering wheel.

Scion managed to get the perfect balance between a spacious interior and a compact exterior.
