Beetle offers luxury, comfort and safety features in a nostalgic
and trendy bundle. A modern version of the old "Bug",
today's Beetle comes in four models, the GL, GLS, GLS TDI,
and the LSX.
All are two door
hatchbacks with standard five speed manual transmission, front
wheel drive and four cylinders. Gas mileage is rated at 24/31
(city/hwy), and the seating capacity is four passengers. Each
model builds upon the previous in terms of performance, luxury
or safety.
The base model
VW Beetle GL makes a statement for passenger comfort and convenience
with such standards as air conditioning, keyless entry system,
power door locks, dual power mirror, and folding rear seat.
A theft deterrent system is also included.
Under the hood,
the Beetle GL contains a SOHC camshaft, 115 horsepower, and
runs on regular gas. Completing the package are essential
safety features such as ABS brakes, driver depowered air bag,
passenger depowered air bag, side impact air bag, and side
head protection air bag.

Next in the model
line up is the VW Beetle GLS, which adds the convenience of

The VW Beetle
GLS TDI differs from the previous model in that it runs on
turbo diesel. It is rated at 90 horsepower, and contains all
the safety and creature comforts of the GLS.
