2017 Lexus LX Overview:
The 2017 Lexus LX 570 is a luxury full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) with 3 row seating. In production since 1995, it is currently in its third generation. This 7-passenger luxury vehicle comes with fine leather seats, wood grain trim on the dashboard, a power moonroof, 4-wheel drive, and a V8 engine. The luxury aspect of this SUV belies just how rugged it really is. Unlike many luxury SUVs, the LX 570 is actually capable of going off road. It also comes with 10 airbags plus a setup that automatically sends help in the event of an accident.

What's new for 2017?

There have been no changes for 2017 since the LX just got a major facelift last year, however, the 2016 model had some major changes. A new 8-speed automatic transmission takes the place of the previous 6-speed transmission. The infotainment system is enhanced and uses the Remote Touch interface with a 12.3 inch display, voice controls, navigation system, and the Enform suite of many smartphone-based services including Pandora, Yelp, Slacker, and iHeartRadio. The back-seat entertainment system now has large 11.6 inch screens. Additional standard safety features include a 360 degree camera setup, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic assist, and intuitive park assist. Other features include Intelligent High Beam, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and a head-up display.

The one style of the 2017 Lexus LX 570 is a full-size SUV that has seating for 8 passengers. The 50/50-split design of the third row seat allows it to be folded up against the cargo compartment sides when it is not being used. It has an excellent 4-wheel-drive system that allows it to travel almost anywhere.  It can pull heavy trailers if needed with its 7,000 pound towing capacity.

Trim Levels

There is only one trim level of the 2017 Lexus LX 570, but it comes with many top-quality standard features. The exterior features 20 inch wheels, an adaptive suspension that is height-adjustable, LED exterior lights for the taillights, foglights, and the automatic and adaptive headlights, and automatic wipers. Inside you'll find 4-zone climate control, heated and power-adjustable front seats, driver memory settings, window sunshades for the second row, a rearview mirror that is auto-dimming, and a household-style 120-volt power outlet located in the cargo bay.

Driving Experience/Driving Impressions

The 2017 Lexus LX 570 is comfortable and smooth whether you are driving on a level, paved highway or uneven terrain. The 3-mode adjustable suspension lets you adjust the ride to your own driving style. When going off-road, the terrain selection system lets you choose from 5 terrain types: sand, rock, loose rock, rock and dirt, and mogul. The LX 570 is an excellent off-road performer due to additional off-road features that include Crawl Control, reinforced skid plates, 2-speed transfer case, and the locking center differential.

Fuel Economy / MPG

The 5.7 liter V8 engine can produce 383 hp with a torque of 403 lb-ft. With this kind of power the fuel economy takes a hit which is not unexpected. The EPA-estimated fuel economy clocks in at 13 mpg for city driving and 18 mpg on the highway.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Lexus LX:

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Lexus LX invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here.)

Note: All Lexus LX Prices above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
