Nissan Price Guides:
2017 Nissan Sentra Overview:
Known for its affordable design, the 2017 Nissan Sentra is available with a powerful turbocharged engine and the Xtronic transmission system. Loaded with digital applications, the NissanConnect multimedia system is available in this economical car. SiriusXM service and the Bose audio system are some other impressive features in the Sentra.

Trims

The 2017 Nissan Sentra is a compact car that includes four doors and five seats. The S, SV and SR trims cost less than $20,000. Optimized for sporty driving and cool styling, the SR Midnight Edition, SR Turbo Midnight Edition and NISMO cost just over $20,000. Additionally, the SL and SR Turbo are also priced well below $25,000.

Performance

The 1.8 L I-4 engine in the 2017 Nissan Sentra has a top output of 130 horsepower. Boosted by a single turbocharger, the 1.6 L MR16DDT I-4 engine offers a maximum of 188 hp. An electronic drive-by-wire throttle is standard in the car's efficient powertrain. Additionally, the Nissan Direct Ignition System manages the beginning of each combustion cycle.

A six-speed manual transmission system is installed in select Sentra trims. For easier shifting in gears, the driver should cruise in a model that's available with the Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) system. In some editions, this signature transmission comes with the Manual Shift Mode. An electric power steering system works in sync with any of these transmissions and the standard front-wheel drive. This advanced steering system automatically makes adjustments in response to the car's speed.

Efficiency

When running on the 1.8 L engine, the 2017 Nissan Sentra gets a fuel economy of 37 MPG on the highway and 29 MPG in the city. A 13.2-gallon fuel tank provides a maximum driving range of just under 500 miles. The turbo engine offers a fuel economy of up to 32 MPG on the highway and 26 MPG in urban settings. Combustion in both engines is precisely controlled by the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System. A curb weight of just over 3,000 pounds gives the Sentra a good aerodynamic profile.

Technology

Featuring a touch-screen interface, a 5.8-inch display is available in select 2017 Nissan Sentra trims. SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link enhance the guidance that's delivered by the built-in GPS navigation software. TripAdvisor, Facebook and Twitter are some other applications that are directly accessible via the NissanConnect portal. For extra access to other mobile apps, Siri Eyes Free allows the driver to use apps on any iPhone.

This Nissan car comes with a standard Radio Data System (RDS) with reliable reception. Featuring more than 100 music stations, SiriusXM Satellite Radio service is available in some trims. The eight Bose speakers provide ideal sound quality inside the car's compact cabin. The driver can avoid distractions thanks to the speed-sensitive volume control.

Safety

Perhaps the most advanced safety technology in the Nissan Sentra is the Forward Emergency Braking, which prevents a front crash. The Blind Spot Warning is paired with the Rear Cross Traffic alert to inform the driver of potential side or rear collisions. This compact Nissan car also comes with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Easy-Fill Tire Alert.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Nissan Sentra

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Nissan Sentra invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Nissan Sentra Prices above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
