2017 Ram 1500 2WD Overview:
The 2017 Ram 1500 2WD is a truck that’s capable of performing your lightest or heaviest towing jobs. It’s smartly engineered with an advanced suspension system and your choice of powerful engine and transmission combinations. You can choose from nine trim levels and several exterior colors to suit your driving needs and tastes.

What’s New For 2017?

A few adjustments were made for the 2017 model year of the Ram 1500. The Outdoorsman trim level was removed, and other trim levels, including the Rebel, Sport, Laramie Longhorn and Big Horn, add new standard features. Finally, the six-speed transmission is no longer available. All Ram 1500’s have 8-speed automatic transmissions.

Versatile, Capable, Powerful

The 2017 Ram 1500 2WD may be the most versatile truck in Ram’s lineup. It’s capable of helping you complete jobs of every size, whether you’re towing your boat, going off road, or just commuting to work every day, the Ram 1500 2WD does it all. You can choose from efficient gas engines or a rugged diesel to drive the wheels and carry your heavy loads effectively. The Ram 1500 2WD comes standard with a 3.6L V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. It’s expertly crafted for balancing power, performance, and efficiency. If it’s diesel you prefer, Ram’s got that too. In fact, it’s the only half-ton pickup on the market that offers a diesel engine. It’s a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that gets a bit less horsepower - 240 - but much more torque at 420 lb-ft. The other gasoline engine option is the 5.7L HEMI V8. It combines the best of both worlds of horsepower and torque, as it achieves 395hp and 410 lb-ft torque. When equipped with this V8, your Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,690 pounds.

Trim Levels/Styles

For optimum customization, you can choose from three different cabs combined with various bed lengths.
Crew Cab seats up to 6 passengers, and is offered in bed lengths of 5 feet, 7 inches and 6 feet, 4 inches. This choice offers the most legroom in the front and rear.
Quad Cab seats up to 6, and has a bed length of 6 feet, 4 inches.
Regular Cab seats up to 3, and offers bed lengths in 8 feet and 6 feet, 4 inches, and both choices provide the same amount of interior volume.

The half-ton 2017 Ram 150 is offered in nine different trims, which makes it easy for you to choose the one that has all of the interior features and safety technologies that you prefer.

  • Tradesman - is the no-nonsense, no-frills base model. It has 40/20/40 split bench seats, spray-in bedliner, and offers additional storage in side cargo boxes.
  • Ram 1500 Express - 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, and a monochromatic exterior
  • Big Horn - premium cloth 40/20/40 bench seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, includes parking assistance in the front and rear, 20-inch wheels
  • Rebel - Available V8 HEMI engine, four-corner air suspension with automatic leveling for heavy loads, off-road ground clearance of 9.3 inches.
  • Sport - includes all features of the Rebel, plus heated front seats and steering wheel, 20-inch wheels and halogen headlamps.
  • Night - aggressive styling with a black grille and liftgate with bold RAM lettering, 20-inch black wheels, cold air intake and cat-back exhaust are available as options.
  • Laramie - includes all above-mentioned features and UConnect infotainment technology with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, 9 amplified speakers with a subwoofer.
  • Laramie Longhorn - all of the above Laramie features, plus premium leather seats, and UConnect with the 8.4-inch touchscreen includes navigation. The leather interior is laser-etched for sophisticated styling. The seats are also heated and ventilated.
  • Limited - all of the bells and whistles. It includes all of the Laramie Longhorn features plus an all-black premium interior and chrome RAM lettering on the tailgate.

The 2017 Ram 1500 2WD is a versatile, powerful truck that gives you the performance and capability you need for your toughest jobs, whether you’re heavy hauling on the jobsite or going on a weekend getaway with your family.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Ram 1500 2WD:

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Ram 1500 2WD invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here.)

Note: All Ram 1500 2WD Prices above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
