Compare the Luxury vs Premium Luxury. What is the difference?

The Cadillac CT4 offers buyers two tantalizing engine options. Going with the Luxury trim will ensure a reliable 2.0-liter four-cylinder that still packs an impressive punch of 237 horsepower and over 250 pound-feet of torque, backed by an eight speed automatic transmission for smooth performance on the roads ahead. Upping to the Premium Luxury gives drivers access to a delightful upgrade -a dual volute turbocharged model featuring 310 horsepower, 350 lb/ft if torque, promising thrilling rides each time you get behind wheel!

Cadillac has designed the CT4 to be a stylish and powerful performance vehicle. Boasting an impressive ten-speed automatic transmission, you can configure this car with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive putting total control in your hands at any given time. The Premium Luxury model is even more thrilling as it offers Brembo brakes on top of blue brake calipers that offer superior precision while adding visual flair. With such great features available, anyone driving a CT4 will feel invincible regardless of weather conditions!

Both the Luxury and Premium Luxury have some sophisticated interior features. Keyless open, remote start, and power-adjustable lumbar support are just the start of it. The steering wheels in these vehicles are wrapped in leather so they're soft to the touch. Available in these two trims is a heating element built into the steering wheel.

In the Luxury, the leatherette seats could be black or beige. In the Premium Luxury, the seats are leather. There are more color options at this level; the seating upholstery could be black, beige, cinnamon, or gray.

The Premium Luxury is upgraded with ambient interior lighting. This adds some extra elegance to the car, and it can make it easier to see what's going on in the cabin. It has a rearview mirror that has an auto-dimming function. This can be very helpful at night when other vehicles are shining their bright lights into the cabin.

In the technology department, the CT4 has many features. Every model is capable of acting as a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an eight-speaker sound system is standard. If anyone wants to upgrade that sound system, there's the option to get a Bose 14-speaker surround sound system. This system is available in the Luxury and the Premium Luxury, and it's offered along with wireless charging.

The Cadillac User Experience is the name of the infotainment package on the CT4. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and it uses an eight-inch touchscreen. Voice recognition technology provides another way to adjust controls, make phone calls, or look up information. SiriusXM and Bluetooth are standard, and navigation is available on either trim.

In terms of safety, the CT4 is packed with advanced systems. The Luxury has automatic emergency braking to reduce the chances of rear-ending another vehicle or hitting a pedestrian. Before that automated braking engages, drivers will receive a warning, thanks to Forward Collision Alert. The Luxury also has an HD rear vision camera as well as a Teen Driver system. This system can be used to encourage better driving when new drivers are behind the wheel, and it provides people with reports that can be used in the learning process.

Lane change alert and blind spot monitoring are available in the Premium Luxury. One standard feature that the Premium Luxury has that the Luxury doesn't is Rear Park Assist. This provides the driver with information regarding distance from other objects. Yet another available element in the Premium Luxury is a head-up display. This can make it easier to stay aware of useful information while driving.

When looking at these two trims from the exterior, there are a few differences. First, the Luxury has 17-inch wheels and the Premium Luxury has 18-inch wheels. In either model, though, there's the opportunity to get 19-inch wheels. The Premium Luxury has front lights that can automatically turn themselves on and off, depending on how dark it is. They can even turn themselves on in tunnels.

The Premium Luxury also has nicer side mirrors than what are found in the Luxury. Both trims have side mirrors that are heated and built with integrated turn signals. However, the Premium Luxury has a driver-side mirror that can automatically dim to reduce distracting glare at night. When it rains, the wipers in the Premium Luxury can automatically turn themselves on. Both trims do have LED headlights and taillights, and a power sunroof is available in either.

Compare the CT4 Premium Luxury vs SportTrim Levels. What is the difference?

The Sport is priced just a bit higher than the Premium Luxury. Remember, though, that the Premium Luxury has many available features. If it's fully loaded, it can actually be the more expensive out of the two.

Something to keep in mind is that the CT4 Sport is exclusively available with the 2.0-liter engine. With this engine, the Sport can earn up to 34 miles per gallon on the highway and 23 miles per gallon in the city. This is a pretty respectable amount.

Style is the main way in which the Sport distinguishes itself from the other CT4 cars. The Sport rides on 18-inch wheels that have a pearl nickel finish. Around the windows, there is a black surround. The Sport has a spoiler on the back, and also in the back are gray-tinted transparent lenses around the taillamps. Little touches like these can work together to make a big impression.

Similar components are found inside the cabin. The Sport can be set up with leatherette or leather seats, but the many available colors that are offered with the Premium Luxury are not found in the Sport. Instead, it has two dark interior color choices: black and sangria.

People who like to spice things up a bit with style will appreciate that the Sport has alloy sport pedals. They're made with brushed metal and have rubber parts that are raised, making them easy for a foot to grip. A similar element is the bright sill plate covers on the front door openings.

The front seats on the Sport can be adjusted in terms of their cushion length, and they have power-adjustable side bolsters. The leather-wrapped steering wheel on this model has paddle shifters mounted on its back side in a perfect location.

Compare the Sport vs V-Series Trims. What is the difference?

Cadillac's V-Series offers an unbeatable driving experience with its signature dual-volute turbocharged engine. This powerful performance most certainly comes at a cost; $11,000 more than the Luxury edition of the CT4 model. However, those who appreciate luxury features and crave thrilling rides may find that this additional investment is well worth it. The real question becomes whether or not individuals need all these extra components - only time behind the wheel can truly answer that.

In the V-Series, the performance Brembo brakes can do a good job of providing a precise response. It's up to the buyer whether the calipers are blue or red. These can be seen through the wheels, and either color would be a bold choice. The V-Series also has Magnetic Ride Control and performance suspension. Magnetic Ride Control is a system in which information is gathered a thousand times each second; the car uses that data to make adjustments and keep the ride smooth and controlled. Further enhancing control are a traction management system and a mechanical limited-slip rear differential.

When looking at the V-Series from the exterior, a few key things stand out. It has a quad-outlet exhaust with bright tips, and it has rocker moldings that have black extensions. It shares some of the features that the Sport has, such as a rear spoiler and black window surround.

Like the Sport, the V-Series has alloy pedals. It has the same type of sport-inspired steering wheel, too. The paddle shifters can be fun to use.

The V-Series comes standard with the Bose Premium Audio Package. Its sound system has 14 speakers that can create a surround-sound effect. Wireless charging is standard. Unfortunately, the V-Series does not have standard navigation. It is an option, just like it is on the rest of the trims.

Final Thoughts

There's a lot to think about with the 2021 Cadillac CT4. It's great that the company is giving its customers so many options.

The Sport may appear modern and eye-catching, though it is not the ideal option for average drivers. Unnecessary exterior details are included in the V-Series model; however, what could be more desirable to some car enthusiasts is its turbocharged engine providing over 300 horsepower which can make daily commutes an exhilarating experience. For this reason, we recommend looking into the Premium Luxury vehicle as a great compromise: it has all of that power with potentially lower costs than selecting from other models such as those found within V-Series range.
