Compare the 1LS vs 1LT Trims. What Is the Difference?

The base trim level of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro is called the 1LS. The next trim level up is called the 1LT. These are both budget-friendly models that come equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. This engine makes a respectable 275 horsepower with 295 pound-feet of torque. These trims both come stock with a manual 6-speed transmission.

The 1LS and 1LT can also be had with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission system comes equipped with a set of paddle shifters. Both of these models share most of the same mechanical features. There's 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, dual-outlet exhaust tips and a limited-slip rear differential.

Every version of the 2022 Camaro is rear-wheel drive and comes with power steering. There's also Chevrolet's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with Traction Control. Mechanically, the 1LT has a few extra options here. The 1LT can come with a 10-speed automatic transmission instead of the 8-speed. Both trims come with the same 4-wheel independent sport suspension.

For the exterior, both models come with a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels. The 1LS has a 5-split-spoke design with silver paint. The 1LT also gets silver paint but has a different design. The 1LT again gets some additional options that are unavailable to the base trim level. It can be had with 20-inch wheels in a variety of different designs.

These two trims come stock with a set of all-season blackwall tires. Chevrolet provides a tire-inflator kit for every trim level. They also provide a wide array of stripes and other graphics to make your Camaro a bit more unique. Overall, there isn't a lot that's different on the outside of these two Camaro models.

On the inside, both trims come with an 8-way power driver's seat. The 1LS has a 4-way manual front-passenger seat with power recline. The 1LT comes with a 6-way power front-passenger seat. There's single-zone climate control as well as power locks and power windows. Keyless Open and Start is equipped on both models.

These two trims also get the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with a 7-inch touchscreen. This infotainment system has an AM/FM stereo and six speakers for the audio. Bluetooth audio streaming is available. There's also Voice Command Technology for controlling the system or for making hands-free phone calls with compatible phones. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used with this system too.

When it comes to safety, these two trim levels share most of the same features. There's an airbag system with front, knee and side-impact airbags for the driver and front passenger. There are also head-curtain airbags for protection up front and in the rear. The airbag system uses smart sensors to know which bags to deploy.

Both trim levels also get a rear-view camera, a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System and Tire Fill Alert. All trim levels come with Chevrolet's Teen Driver technology. This system allows the owner to customize vehicle settings and assign them to a key FOB. This can limit features and automatically turn on safety features. This technology helps to encourage safer driving habits for teen drivers in the home.

The 1LS and 1LT both have the same horsepower, acceleration stats and driving dynamics. Both have a combined fuel-economy rating of 22 miles-per-gallon according to the EPA. The major differences here come from just a few extra features and options for the 1LT.

Compare the 1LT vs 2LT Trims. What is the difference?

After the 1LT, the next trim level up is called the 2LT. This model once again comes with the same 2.0-liter turbo engine and the 6-speed manual transmission. Mechanically, these two trim levels are identical. They share all of the same features and options in this category. The fuel-economy numbers, horsepower and handling is all identical here.

For the exterior, there's still not much of a difference here. On the inside, the 2LT gets dual-zone climate control and some carbon fiber trim for the instrument panel. The 2LT gets several options for color schemes and materials for the interior. White, Black and Adrenaline Red interior motifs are all available.

Both trim levels come with the exact same infotainment system and audio setup. The safety features and driver-assist technology are the same as well. One nice extra for the 2LT is the addition of heated and ventilated seats up front. These two trims don't offer too much of a different, but the 2LT does have a few extras for only a small increase in cost.

Compare the 2LT vs 3LT. What Is the Difference?

The 3LT trim level again sticks with the base-level engine. You get the same suspension system and transmission as the previous two trims. The brakes and all of the mechanical features are nearly identical. The 3LT does come with a Lighting and Convenience Package. The driver's side mirror now gets an auto-dimming feature and heating.

The outside mirrors now also come with a memory feature. This makes it fast and easy to get them into the correct position. On the inside, the 3LT now comes with an 8-inch diagonal display for driver information. This includes data on driver personalization, vehicle information and driver alerts.

The 1LT trim level comes with numerous performance upgrades. It actually downgrades some of the interior features. The infotainment system reverts back to the standard model found on the base trim level. The Bose audio system is removed. It also loses the driver-assist features that were added to the 3LT trim level.

Compare the LT1 vs 1SS. What Is the Difference?

The 1SS trim level of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro comes with the same 6.2-liter V8 engine as the LT1 trim level. The 6-speed manual transmission is standard here once again. All of the cooling systems get upgraded for the 1SS. A rear differential cooler is added on as well.

On the inside, the 1SS gets the same base sound system as before. The 8-inch driver display makes its return for this trim level. The infotainment system gets the bigger 8-inch touchscreen display. The front visors now get illumination for the vanity mirrors. The safety features and driver-assist tech are basically the same when comparing these two models.

There are a few extra options for wheel style and interior color scheme. The main difference between these two trim levels is the addition of some convenience and comfort features for the 2SS.

Dual climate control and the Front Collision Alert features return for this model as well. A Heads-Up display projects important information onto the windshield within easy view of the driver.

Interior Spectrum Lighting makes everything look more upscale on the inside of the 2SS trim level. Lane-Change Alert with Side Blind-Zone Alert and all of the previously mentioned driver-assist features can be found as standard equipment for the 2SS trim.

Compare the 2SS vs ZL1 Trim. What Is the Difference?

The ZL1 is a true muscle car in every sense of that term. This model of the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 DI engine. This powerful motor can output 650 horsepower with 650 pound-feet of torque. The ZL1 can get you from 0 to 60 miles-per-hour in just 3.5 seconds.

Which Trim to Choose?

For budget buyers, the 2LT is a great choice. It comes with some extras that make it worth the upgrade over the 1LT. The cost increase is negligible. If looks are a priority over performance, this may suit a buyer just fine.

If the buyer wants real muscle, however, the 1SS is a good bet. It comes equipped with a big V8 engine with plenty of horses under its hood. For the best of horsepower and convenience features, the 2SS is king. For most consumers, it may be the most well-rounded trim without getting into the steeper price range of the ZL1.
