Compare the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette 1LT vs 2LT Trim Levels. What Is the Difference?
The three trim levels for the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette are called the 1LT, 2LT and the 3LT. Chevrolet likes to keep things simple. All three models come equipped with the same powertrain. There's a 6.2-liter, V8 DI engine with variable valve timing and GM's Active Fuel Management. This engine produces 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
The engine's power goes up to 495 horses with 470 pound-feet of torque with the available performance exhaust or the Z51 Performance Package. This Corvette can go from 0 to 60 miles-per-hour in just 2.9 seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed, dual-clutch transmission that offers the engagement of a manual with the smoothness of an automatic.
The transmission shifts quickly and smoothly. It provides continuous power and torque to the wheels. There's also a double-paddle de-clutch feature. This allows the driver to disengage from the clutch by holding in both paddle shifters. Chevy claims that the Corvette transmission system can shift within 100 milliseconds.
All trim levels get electronic power steering, a limited-slip rear differential and a heavy-duty cooling system. There's a sports suspension system and Active Stability Control with Traction Control for amazing handling. Chevy engineers worked hard here to make sure that little power is lost. Everything gets right to the wheels for efficient performance.
A stock version of any trim level will offer the same fuel efficiency. Every model has a 18.5-gallon fuel tank. The EPA estimates that the 2022 Corvette should get 16 miles-per-gallon in the city and 24 miles-per-gallon on the highway. That comes out to a combined rating of 19 miles-per-gallon.
All models of the 2022 Corvette have an aluminum body frame. This is a strong frame that's also lightweight for better speed and efficiency. All trims come stock with high-performance, anti-lock brakes from Brembo. The brake calipers are painted black on the 1LT and 2LT, though bright-red calipers can be added on as an option.
For the most part, all three trim levels are mechanically the same. They offer the same performance stats. The Performance can be upgraded for any model by adding on options and performance packages. One mechanical feature that's optional for the 2LT but not the 1LT is a front-lift with memory feature. This raises the front end by 2 inches and memorizes over 1,000 GPS locations to make clearing speed bumps and other obstacles easier.
For the exterior, both of these trim levels have 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels in the back. These are painted aluminum wheels with a 5-spoke design. They come in a bright-silver color. The 1LT has power-adjustable, exterior mirrors with heating and integrated turn signals. The 2LT has all of this plus an auto-dimming feature.
Both trim levels have Carbon-Flash exterior accents. Intermittent windshield wipers and daytime running lamps are standard across the board. Every model gets premium, LED headlights. Chevy outfits all three trims with all-season, run-flat tires by Michelin. This is a great feature that helps mitigate the fear of being stranded due to a flat.
The exterior glass is Solar-Ray® tinted. This adds some protection against UV rays and gives the driver a clearer view. Once again, these two trim levels aren't too different when comparing the exterior features. Chevrolet offers a lot of choices for personalization when it comes to the exterior of their Corvette.
On the inside, both trim levels get Chevrolet's GT1 bucket seats. These seats are designed for both comfort and support. Both trims have 8-way, power-adjustable seats up front. The 2LT gets power lumbar support and a power back-seat bolster as well. The 2LT also offers a memory feature for the steering-wheel position and the exterior mirrors.
Both trim levels have a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Both models also share the same 12-inch, driver-information display. This shows vehicle and driver-assist info. It also displays a customizable gauge cluster. Three different themes can be selected from to further customize the look.
All models get power locks and windows, as one would expect from a premium sports car like the Corvette. There's dual-zone, automatic climate control plus an air-filtration system to keep everyone comfortable and breathing easy. When it comes to the multimedia features, the 1LT has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with an 8-inch touchscreen display. The screen features HD, full-color graphics. Settings for this system can easily be saved to the Cloud. There's Voice-Recognition Technology as well as Bluetooth streaming for music.
The 1LT infotainment system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Even better, it offers wireless connectivity for both of these popular apps. Many of the features can be accessed with a word from the driver, and the system can also be used to make hands-free phone calls.
The 2LT trim level has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System with a built-in navigation system. The 1LT has a premium sound system by Bose, complete with 10 speakers. The 2LT upgrades this to a Bose Performance-Series System with 14 speakers and stainless-steel speaker grilles. Both models of the infotainment system are Chevrolet Connected Access capable.
Chevrolet Connected Access works in tandem with OnStar services. Chevrolet also offers a free trial to SiriusXM Satellite Radio for all models of the new Corvette. Moving up to the 2LT trim level gets the buyer an extra, heads-up display that's customizable. Both models of the 2022 Corvette have a theft-deterrent system, while the 2LT adds an interior movement sensor.
The 1LT has a rear-view camera, while the 2LT gets an upgraded camera system and a built-in rear camera for the rear-view mirror. Both car models get keyless entry, remote start, ambient interior lighting and cruise control. They also both feature a WiFi hotspot to keep the driver and passengers connected and entertained. The 2LT has a Universal Home Remote that can access compatible devices such as garage doors and home-security systems. The 2LT also offers wireless charging for smartphones and other devices.
The 1LT and 2LT both have the same advanced airbag system. There are front bags for the driver and front passenger. There are also seat-mounted, side-impact bags for head and thorax protection. A passenger-sensing system switches the passenger-seat airbags on or off depending on whether or not someone is actually in the passenger seat.
Both trim levels have Rear-Park Assist. The 2LT also gets Side Blind-Zone Alert and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Pretty much every GM vehicle gets the automaker's Teen Driver Technology now. This includes all three trim levels of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette.
The Teen Driver Technology allows the owner of a new Corvette to customize vehicle settings and then attach them to a key fob. The key fob can then be given to a younger or inexperienced, secondary driver. Vehicle features can be turned on, deactivated or configured to promote safer driving habits. The system also provides feedback so the owner can monitor the student driver's behaviors and provide some useful coaching.
Compare the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette 2LT vs 3LT Trims. What Is the Difference?
The top trim level of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette is called the 3LT. At this point, no one should have been surprised by that. The 3LT comes stock with the same engine and transmission system as the first two trim levels. The suspension system and brakes are the same. There's no difference in the mechanical features or performance stats when comparing the 3LT to the 2LT.
One unique thing about the 3LT is that it's the base for Chevrolet's special edition of the 2022 Corvette. For this special edition, Chevy brought back the Stingray moniker. The full name of this model is the Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition. This model comes with the Z51 Performance Package for a little extra boost in horsepower and torque. It also gets some cosmetic upgrades patterned after the GTLM race cars.
The special-edition Stingray has unique wheels and a bunch of carbon-fiber parts such as the exterior mirrors, trim and rear spoiler. It also comes with side skirts and the Corvette Racing logo stamped on its wheels. On the inside, it gets GT2 race seats with reinforced bolsters and some flashy, yellow seat belts. Chevrolet throws in a car cover for good measure.
For the stock model of the 3LT, it's safe to assume it has all of the features of the 2LT in every feature category. The only exception is when an upgrade has been made. And there are, of course, a few new additional features and some exclusive options as well. On the outside, there's nothing much to speak of. The exterior features remain the same as those offered on the 2LT.
On the inside, the 3LT has a custom trim and seat option. Leather-wrapped panels and other appointments are now optional for the interior. Some options include covering the door panels, upper instrument panel and console cover with leather. Even without this optional package, the 3LT comes with microfiber suede trim for the interior.
Yellow custom stitching for the leather and upholstery is available to this top-tier trim level. The 3LT also gets extra padding and bigger bolsters for the seats. The safety features and driver-assist technology is all the same here. There aren't too many upgrades overall to go along with the price increase.

Which Trim to Choose?
It's hard to imagine anyone being dissatisfied with a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette, no matter which trim level they choose. These newer, mid-engine Corvettes have an exotic, almost European style to them that's sure to turn some heads. Of course, this would be meaningless without the performance to match. Thankfully, the Corvette doesn't disappoint there either. It never does.
Since stock versions of all three trim levels have the same performance stats, the best option will simply depend on what features one can live without.
