The 2020 Toyota Sienna is richly appointed with today’s must-have technology and helpful amenities. Spacious, the Sienna can handle cargo as well as people. It offers exclusives such as Toyota’s Driver Easy Speak.

Every model has Toyota Safety Sense P. This system includes a forward collision warning and pedestrian watch. These can trigger automatic braking. A lane watch helps the driver keep the Sienna within the marked lines. Dynamic radar cruise control provides a more automated system for highway driving.

These minivans are notable for their cargo volume with the seats up. You have 39.1 cubic feet, which is remarkable when compared to the volume in most rival minivans. It's also a lot when compared to three-row models such as Toyota's own Highlander.
Total volume is 117 cubic feet with the seats folded. However, it is possible to remove the second row and claim 150 cubic feet of space. This makes it competitive with three-row SUVs. Payload ratings can go as high as 1,380 pounds. Toyota claims that the cabin can handle 4x8 sheets of plywood.

Cabin size is very competitive, too. The second row has 37.6 inches of legroom. The third row has 36.3 inches, edging ahead of many three-row competitors by two inches. That may not sound like a lot, but it is significant to a long-legged kid stuck in the back.

In seven-seat models, the captain’s chairs are on a track that slides 23 inches forward and back. You can bring the kids up toward you, or your teenagers can push back for extra legroom.

The only powertrain is a 296-horsepower unit that delivers 263 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive fuel economy is 27 miles per gallon highway. . An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.

All Siennas have a complimentary maintenance plan. This covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance for up to 25,000 miles or two years.

Siennas are still the only minivan to offer all-wheel drive. It’s a valuable feature for those who regularly encounter snowy or icy roads. The higher ground clearance helps too. L models have 6.2 inches of ground clearance while other FWD models have 6.5 inches. AWD models are best with 6.6 inches.

The second-row captain chairs have a long sliding track and the ability to tip-up. They can also be removed, allowing you to insert a bike or store cargo. The L edition Entune Audio. This includes a seven-inch touch screen and an App Suite. Scout GPS Link is free for three years, providing onboard navigation. Other aspects include Siri Eyes Free and Bluetooth.

Amazon Alexa connectivity provides a conduit between the minivan and your home. Apple CarPlay increases connectivity between the Sienna and the owner’s iPhone. There are five USB ports, helping the kids plug in on rows two and three.

The climate system has three zones. This includes a rear control panel where the kids can set the temperature. Parents can also set the second-row temperature from the front seat. On the second and third rows, there are sunshades that can be pulled into place. LATCH attachments provide three or four choices for safe carseat placement.

The LE upgrades the cabin and technology. The sliding glass doors pick up power-slide capability. Parents will like the easy-clean fabric. It helps repel stains and odors.

This connects the minivan to an emergency call system. Furthermore, the cabin is equipped for WiFi. You can add 4G LTE coverage that lets you stream on five mobile devices.

The SE exterior is dressed slightly differently. It has bigger 18-inch wheels. These 6-spoke alloys are painted with a gunmetal finish. LE models have 17-inch 7-spoke alloys.

SE front bumpers wear a sport mesh front grille. The surround is smoked chrome. The power heated mirrors are color-keyed. The chrome door handles have touch sensors for power-open and power-lock.

Standard on the SE Premium, a Dual-View Blu-Ray system includes a 16.4-inch display. There are several 120V AC outlets, HDMI inputs, and wireless headphones. It also has a remote and an SD card reader. This system allows streaming from Android devices.

Like the SE, the SE Premium has eight seats with two front rows covered in leather and a third in leatherette. When it’s not needed, the second-row center seat has a special storage spot in the cargo area. Stepping up to AWD, it reverts to the middle Captain’s chairs for a total of seven seats.

Compare the 2020 Toyota Sienna SE Premium vs. XLE Trims.  What is the Difference?

The XLE does not have all of the top features you’ll find on the SE Premium. This means it does not include Driver Easy Speak or the rear entertainment system. However, it is a dressy edition with leather seats and other top amenities, such as heated front seats. It comes in seven-row versions for all-wheel drive versions. Which Trim to Choose?

Toyota has made it much easier to pick the base edition. It’s such a good deal with the standard power chair and all of those standard driver assistance features. Yet many parents will want a bit more since the L doesn’t even have power-slide side doors.

Still budget-friendly, the LE is tempting since it has the easy-clean fabric and power-slide doors. The valuable three-year subscription to Safety Connect may be what gives many parents peace of mind. If you want more safety, Toytoa offers the LE Preferred Package. This adds the blind spot and rear cross traffic alert system. It also adds push button start and the smart key.

For eight seats and all-wheel drive, the least expensive choice is the SE. This one is so well-equipped that many will not miss the extras. There is an SE Preferred Package that adds the JBL system with ClariFi. This also upgrades the Entune system. Drivers will appreciate rear park assist sonar.

However, if there is a sweet spot, it's the SE Premium. The minivan has the feature that parents need and the toy that kids want. It has Driver Easy Speak, which lets you calm toddlers or address fighting on the third row. It has the entertainment center which keeps kids happy and occupied.

If you need special accommodations for a person in a wheelchair, the Sienna offers a 330-pound lift capacity. Shoppers can choose an LE or XLE model with this Auto Access Seat.

Families who love camping should definitely get an all-wheel drive model for the extra ground clearance. For those who want to tow, you can add the Tow Prep Package. This allows the minivan to pull up to 3,500 pounds.
