With the 2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid come quite a few new pieces of technology for the RLX line. First, a beefy 3.5 liter V6 engine is perfectly combined with a 7-speed transmission. This transmission integrates with two electric motors for the back wheels and a built-in motor for the front wheels. Though the engine is only 310 horsepower, the combination of the wheel motors and the engine give the RLX a nice 377 horsepower to work with. The 2017 model also includes some new chassis changes, and comes with standardized 19-inch wheels.
Two technology packages are available for the 2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid. First there is the standard Technology Package, which comes with the specially-created Acura Navigation System. It also includes GPS-linked climate control (an impressive link of technology and comfort), acoustic glass for lower volume during high-speed travel, a premier ELS audio system, and the patented AcuraWatch driver assistance technology.
The second package available for the 2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid is the fancier Advance Package. This includes or swaps out all of the above-mentioned technology features in the Technology Package, but also brings some breathtaking new characteristics to the hybrid. Now, the seats are heated and ventilated for ultimate comfort. The ELS audio system has been upgraded to a beautiful Krell system. The windows have built-in sunshades, so those in the backseat can comfortably sit without the sun shining directly into their eyes. In addition to the AcuraWatch technology, the car has a surround view camera for easy backing in and out of parking spaces and even has front and rear parking sensors to assist even further.
As the 2017 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid name implies, this car drives somewhat like a sports car. With robust safety technology and a powerful engine, this car does give a great ride on first impression. The car is somewhat unnoticeable on the road for its price point, which might be a downside for some drivers. The styling is subtle but still sleek. However, for drivers who want a car that is safe, reliable, and slightly more powerful than most other cars on the road, the 2017 RLX is the perfect car.
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Acura RLX Hybrid invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here.)
Note: All Acura RLX Hybrid MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.
A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
