With the optional carbon-ceramic brakes, the M5 delivers equally-impressive braking power, stopping from 60 mph in only 99 feet when equipped with summer tires. The weight and feel of the brakes are well-matched to the performance of the car. The M5 has accurate steering, delivering just the right response in each of the drive modes. It requires very little effort with the wheel to keep the M5 on a straight line on the highway.
The 2019 BMW M5 has great handling that provides outstanding drivability from day to day. The all-wheel drive seems to keep the car glued to the road, yet it seems to enhance the agility of the car rather than detract from it. Trim Levels and Upgrades
The two trim options for the 2019 BMW M5 are either standard or Competition. Both trim packages come with the 600-horsepower 4.4-liter V8 and the power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The standard trim comes with nineteen-inch wheels, a carbon-fiber roof, LED headlights and power front seats with 20 adjustments. There is also a head-up display that shows instrument gauge data on the windshield. The front seats and steering wheel have heating capability. The competition suspension is slightly stiffer than the standard M5, and other tuning to suspension further enhances the firmness in handling.
There are many other enhancement packages available to upgrade both trim levels of the M5. The Driving Assistance Plus package gives drivers several onboard safety technology features, and the Executive package adds many luxury accommodations that enhance the climate control, improve the seat comfort and many other features. The audio system can be upgraded to a high-end Bowers & Wilkins system with 16 speakers, and the top speed can be modified by the Driver's package up to 189 mph.
