How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Chevrolet Bolt EUV

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Chevrolet Bolt EUV invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Chevrolet Bolt EUV Overview:

The Chevy Bolt EV is an all-electric hatchback and one of the vehicles that pioneered the electric-car movement. The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is the crossover-SUV version of the Bolt. EUV stands for electric utility vehicle. The passenger space gets increased for this version of the Bolt while the cargo space stays roughly the same at 56.9 cubic-feet. The Bolt EUV comes with some technological upgrades over the EV.

What's New for 2022?

This is the first generation for the Chevrolet Bolt EUV. It's a bit bigger on the inside than the previous models of the Bolt EV. It also offers a few features that were never available on the regular Bolt. One of the biggest additions is Chevy's Super Cruise, a Level-2 Autonomous Driving System.

Styles and Configurations

The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV only comes in one body style. It has four doors, a rear hatch for the cargo area and room for five people. The Bolt EUV only has one power-train option and one available transmission system.

Performance and Fuel Economy

The Bolt EUV is powered by an 11.5 kW electric drive unit. This electric motor produces 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The Bolt EUV can get you from 0 to 60 miles-per-hour in just 7 seconds. This car has a range of between 247 to 259 miles on a full charge. That's around 37 miles of range for every hour of charging.

The Bolt EUV comes with a dual-level charging cord. The cord can be plugged into a standard three-prong outlet. It can also be connected to a 240-volt NEMA 14-50 outlet, which can be installed in your home for faster charging.

Driving Impressions

Steering and handling is tight, accurate and nimble inside of the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV. This crossover SUV is fun to zip around town in. It can also tackle winding back roads with ease. The all-electric power-train may take some getting used to, as it has a distinct and different feel from a gasoline-powered car. The massive amounts of instant torque makes for breathtaking acceleration.

Safety and Driver-Assist Tech

Chevrolet has equipped every model of the 2022 Bolt EUV with plenty of standard safety features. There's also a lot of modern, high-tech driver-assist features to make the driver's job a lot easier as well as a lot safer. Every trim level gets Chevy's Stabilitrak Technology. This is an electronic stability-control system that also features traction control.

Every model of the Bolt EUV gets 10 airbags. All trims are setup for OnStar Services as well as Chevrolet Connected Services. Chevy's Teen Driver Technology allows the owner to lock-in vehicle settings and attach these settings to a key FOB. It also produces a report on how a driver is doing. In this way, the owner can monitor the driving habits of younger, secondary drivers of the Bolt EUV in order to provide coaching and feedback.

A Overview of the Trim Levels

The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt is available in four different trim levels. The base trim level is called the 1LT. This model comes equipped with a set of 17-inch aluminum wheels that are painted silver. It gets automatic headlights and heated exterior mirrors. The seats are covered with cloth. These are 6-way manually adjustable up front with a 60/40 split-folding rear bench.

The base trim gets automatic climate control to keep everyone nice and comfortable. This trim also features remote-start, a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System has an AM/FM stereo and a 10.2-inch touchscreen display. The system features Bluetooth and Voice-Recognition Technology as well as compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Moving up to the LT trim level comes with leather-appointed seats. The wheels are now painted in a color that Chevy calls Dark Android. They also feature silver inserts. This model gets LED headlights, taillights, sequential turning signals and daytime running lights. It also offers wireless charging for smartphones and other devices.

The 2LT trim level comes equipped with a set of 17-inch machined-face aluminum wheels. These have painted pockets in a color that Chevy calls Carbon Flash. The 2LT has an optional upgrade for the audio system. This is a premium stereo and speaker system by Bose. This includes seven speakers with a subwoofer. It also comes with two additional USB ports for the rear passengers.

The 2LT now has an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat. An HD Rear-Vision Camera gives a clear view of everything behind the vehicle. The final, top-tier trim level is called the Premier. If features the very best of what Chevrolet has to offer. There's an illuminated charging port for easier charging in the dark.

The Premier gets upgraded LED signature lights for the exterior. There are roof-mounted side rails for some extra storage space up top. The Premier trim also gets some fancy chrome trim on the outside. This model automatically gets the upgraded Bose sound system along with an upgraded infotainment system. It now comes with an integrated navigation system.

The Premier models have access to Chevy's Super Cruise Package. This is a high-tech, hands-free, automatic-driving system that works on compatible roads. This technology also includes Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking. The front seats get ventilation in addition to heating. The rear seats for the Premier also now have a heating feature.

Note: All Chevrolet Bolt EUV MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
