What's New for 2021?
The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer's lineup starts with the L edition, which comes standard with a front-wheel drive. This base-level model isn't available with an all-wheel drive. However, the affordable trim has plenty of premium electronic amenities, such as a 7-inch touch screen and the Tire Pressure Display.
When upgrading to the LS model, consumers will get a flat-folding front passenger's seat and rear carpeted floor mats. This model also has 17-inch aluminum wheels that are painted in silver. The LT trim rolls on 17-inch aluminum wheels with the High Gloss Black finish. A 120-volt power outlet and the 4.2-inch Driver Information Center are some premium interior amenities that are optional inside this mid-level trim.
The 2021 Trailblazer Activ is equipped with trapezoidal shaped exhaust tips that are polished for enhanced styling. LED tail lamps and fog lamps are installed on this advanced model. Additionally, the hands-free liftgate comes with LED logo projection for dramatic visual effects. This amenity is part of the Sun and Liftgate Package, which includes a panoramic sunroof with dual panes.
As the most expensive model on the 2021 Trailblazer's lineup, the RT boasts lots of deluxe amenities. This high-level model is equipped with 18-inch machined wheels with the High Gloss Black style. Leatherette seats with the Jet Black design and red accents are optional inside the RT edition.
Driving Impressions
A 1.2 L engine block from the ECOTEC family is standard on the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. Generating 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, this patented I-3 powertrain has impressive capabilities for its compact size. A 1.3 L engine with the ECOTEC nameplate is also optional for this all-new crossover SUV. Peak outputs of this three-cylinder propulsion system are 155 hp and 174 lb-ft.
A nine-speed automatic transmission system is synchronized with the 1.2 L turbocharged engine. A continuously variable transmission is mated to the 1.3 L turbo engine. An all-wheel drive with several modes is also available for this versatile Chevy model. For instance, the Sport Mode gives the driver an extra boost for accelerating and cornering. An engine block heater and a mechanical jack are some optional accessories for the car's efficient powertrain.
When equipped with the Trailering Equipment, the 2021 Trailblazer tows up to 1,000 pounds. A suspension system that's fine-tuned for off-road driving is another optional hardware on the menu. Four-wheel disc brakes and functional skid plates boost performance on a wide range of terrains.
Fuel Economy
Powered by unleaded gasoline, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer offers a fuel economy of 33 MPG on the highway and 29 MPG in the city. Such gas mileage is attained by the 1.3 L ECOTEC engine. However, the 1.2 L ECOTEC engine has slightly lower fuel economy ratings. The Automatic Stop/Start with Disable optimizes the efficiency of both turbocharged engines under the hood of this all-new model.
Thanks to the Engine Air Filter Monitoring System, the driver will know exactly when to replace the engine air filter. In fact, the Driver Information Center shows an estimate of the remaining lifespan of this critical filtration item that impacts fuel economy and overall performance.
Safety and Security
The Chevy Safety Assist governs seven different active safety technologies in the 2021 Trailblazer. When driving below 50 MPH, the driver might receive assistance from the Automatic Emergency Braking. If an accident seems imminent, the Forward Collision Alert will quickly trigger the AEB. Additionally, the Front Pedestrian Braking is active when the speedometer reading is less than 50 MPH. The Following Distance Indicator helps the driver maintain a safe distance behind another moving automobile.
This all-new Chevy crossover SUV is equipped with the IntelliBeam headlamps, which vary in intensity in response to the surrounding traffic. Thanks to the Lane Keep Assist, the driver is unlikely to lose control of the steering system. The Lane Change Alert generates warnings when there's an elevated risk of a crash with other cars in neighboring lanes. This feature works in sync with the Side Blind Zone Alert, which turns on flashing signals in the exterior side mirrors.
Standard on the 2021 Trailblazer, the Rear Vision Camera records images of whatever is directly behind the power tailgate. By following guidance from the Rear Park Assist, the driver can safely back up. If another car quickly creeps up from behind, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert might come on.
This athletic Chevy model has several premium security features, like the Teen Driver. Families may utilize this exclusive technology to limit the driving behavior of an inexperienced person behind the wheel. The Tire Fill Alert and Tire Pressure Display are some other class-leading features that are installed inside this all-new family car. A remote panic alarm and the Keyless Entry Keypad add extra levels of security.
Technology
Part of the Technology Package, an 8-inch HD touch screen is available for the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. This compact crossover SUV also offers seven speakers from the Bose company. HD Radio and SiriusXM 360L channels may be played on this exclusive audio system. Optimized for mobile devices, the Chevrolet Connected Access service is compatible with the car's multimedia console. OnStar also delivers a 4G LTE Wi-Fi network to all occupants inside this all-new Chevy car.How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Chevrolet Trailblazer
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Chevrolet Trailblazer invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)
Note: All Chevrolet Trailblazer MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.
A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
