The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica is a versatile minivan that checks all of the boxes for modern families. It has a lot of things going for it over the competition, including the availability of all-wheel drive. As a bonus, it is easy to convert this minivan from a people-hauler to a cavernous cargo hauler. Buyers looking for a new minivan will not want to miss the opportunity to learn more about this one.
What's New for 2022?
This minivan gains an in-cabin air filtration system in 2022. Models that are equipped with the rear-seat entertainment system will now be compatible with Amazon Fire TV, making it easy to stream shows and movies while on the go. When the Pacifica is in park, the video will stream on the infotainment screen in the front as well. Silver Mist is the only new paint option in 2022.
The standard 2022 Chrysler Pacifica utilizes a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 287-horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It pairs nicely with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Select models are eligible for an upgrade to an all-wheel-drive system.
There is also a plug-in hybrid version of the Pacifica, which also uses a V6. It combines them with two electric motors for an output of 260-horsepower. The hybrid powertrain cannot be paired with all-wheel drive.
The front-wheel-drive Pacifica is estimated to get 19mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. These are good numbers for a minivan. Upgrading to all-wheel drive will mean getting 17mpg city and 25mpg on the highway. As for models with the plug-in hybrid, they can go an estimated 32 miles on electric power only and then get an estimated 82 MPGe.
In its standard configuration, the 2022 Pacifica can seat up to seven. If buyers want, a small middle seat can be added to the second row, bringing the capacity up to eight. The three rows of seats are all spacious and supportive, making the Pacifica excellent for growing families.
Behind the third row, there are 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space. Drivers will find 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 140.5 cubic feet behind the first. One of the biggest perks of the Pacifica is the second and third-row Stow 'N Go seats, which fold completely flat into the floor.
Staying connected and entertained is a growing priority for those shopping for a new family vehicle. To help achieve these goals, the Pacifica comes standard with three USB ports, wireless smartphone integration, satellite radio, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen. A six-speaker sound system is also standard, although top models take that number all the way up to nineteen speakers.
There are multiple advanced tech features that are reserved for top Pacifica trim levels. Buyers can find navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging. Select models have extra USB ports, along with the "Fam Cam" feature that lets parents keep an eye on what's going on behind them.
The 2022 Pacifica received five out of five stars overall after being tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There are driver assistance features found on all models, including driver favorites such as adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. Rear parking sensors are also included, along with forward-collision mitigation and lane-keeping assist. Upper trims add front parking sensors, a hands-free park assist system, and a surround-view camera system.
It is hard to find much to complain about when it comes to the Pacifica's interior. The road and wind noise are kept out nicely, and the cabin feels durable yet upscale. Families will appreciate the numerous cupholders and small storage spaces found strategically placed throughout the Pacifica. All models except the entry-level one have heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The Touring L and Limited models go a step further by adding genuine leather upholstery to the minivan.
Every model of the 2022 Pacifica can help make parents' lives easier. Power-sliding side doors and a power liftgate are standard on all models. So are LED headlights and heated outside mirrors. Starting with the Limited trim, the Pacifica also adds power-folding side mirrors, and the driver's side mirror gains an auto-dimming function. Both the Limited and Pinnacle models also have a panoramic sunroof.
Families who want the convenience and versatility of a minivan will be well-served by the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. Scheduling a test drive is a good way to learn even more about this balanced vehicle.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
