What’s New for 2017
The standard features of it are mostly just the basics on the lowest trim, but the other trims do have some nicer features. These include things like a perimeter alarm system, ambient lighting, and a better cloth interior. Also, additional features include the Sync 3 infotainment system as well as navigation.
For styling the 2017 Ford Fiesta is available as a sedan or a hatchback. Both of these also have front-wheel drive, a five-speed manual transmission, and a 1.6L Ti-VCT Engine standard.
This car comes in four different trims:
• Fiesta S
• Fiesta SE
• Fiesta Titanium
• Fiesta ST
The Fiesta S trim comes with SYNC system along with SYNC Applink. This lets a driver use voice commands for music, phone calls, and supportive apps. The steering wheel can be tilted and telescoped so the driver(s) can be positioned where necessary. The fabric of the seating is cloth and the rear seats are split 60/40. Finally, it has a 4-in. LCD screen as well as an audio system with six speakers.
For the Fiesta SE, cloth of the front seats is improved and the steering has been wrapped in leather. A cruise control is added along with power windows. Lastly, the speed of the car and the loudness of the audio system can be limited through the MyKey feature.
The Fiesta Titanium adds in many features. The audio system has a total of eight, rather than six, speakers; there is also HD and satellite radio. Minor collisions can be prevented with the parking assist as well as the rearview camera. Starting the engine has the convenience of push-button start, and mobile device charging (or powering a dash cam) is also convenient thanks to the two USB ports. The gear shift knob is leather as well as the trimming of the heated front seats. Finally, climate control is automatic, and the technology lover will enjoy the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
Lastly, the final trim, the fiesta ST (which is more performance focused), has a 1.6L turbocharged engine with a six-speed manual transmission. The steering wheel has perforated leather wrapping, and the cloth upholstery is improved as well.
The 2017 Ford Fiesta drives very well. Its standard suspension delivers a smooth ride and it also steers well. However, the manual transmission in this car can have a slow response time in general circumstances.
The base gas mileage for this car depends on which engine plus transmission is chosen. The base engine with a six-speed automatic transmission delivers 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. However the EcoBoost engine with five-speed manual transmission improves the gas mileage to 31 mpg city and 41 mpg highway.
How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Ford Fiesta
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Ford Fiesta invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)
Note: All Ford Fiesta MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.
A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
