Kia Forte5 Overview:
Sporty and sleek, the Kia Forte5 offers two engine options and three transmission choices. Some of the car's attractive exterior paint options include Crimson Red, Gravity Blue and Aurora Black. For its economical design, the Forte5 offers plenty of high-tech amenities, including a 7-inch infotainment system with the UVO eServices and other applications.

Featuring four doors and a tailgate, the Kia Forte5 is a compact hatchback that starts at just more than $18,000. Priced at just above $20,000, the EX and SX models are available with a GPS navigation system and other premium amenities. These trims also offer the Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist, which lower the risk of a side collision on the highway.

Capable of producing just over 160 horsepower, a 2.0 L engine is standard in the Kia Forte5 LX and EX trims. The SX model is driven by a 1.6 L turbo engine that's capable of whipping out slightly more than 200 hp. Gasoline direct injection (GDI) manages the fuel injection system in both engines.

A six-speed automatic transmission system is paired with the 2.0 L engine. The turbo engine is compatible with a seven speed transmission system with dual clutches or a six-speed manual transmission system. The signature Sportmatic Sports Shifter provides other options for changing gears in any of these transmissions. A motor-driven power steering system gives the driver some leverage for making swift maneuvers.

Based on EPA tests, the Kia Forte5 LX and EX models offer up to 34 miles/gallon on the highway and 25 miles/gallon in the city. The driver can fill the 13.2-gallon fuel tank to enjoy a nonstop driving range of nearly 450 miles. The SX model has a fuel economy of 30 MPG on the highway and 25 MPG on urban roads. Engineered to optimize efficiency during combustion, the Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing technology is standard in this Kia hatchback.

A 7.0-inch display with a touch-screen menu is installed in the Kia Forte5. Powered by the UVO eServices platform, the infotainment system fully supports Android smartphones and iPhones. This Kia is also connected to HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Wireless Bluetooth, dual 12-v ports and an auxiliary jack provide other ways to connect external devices with the multimedia system.

The Hill Start Assist Control and Brake Assist System are standard in the Kia Forte5. In hazardous situations, additional support is provided by the Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control. The Vehicle Stability Management also helps the driver maintain firm control in tough conditions. Stopping this Kia hatchback on a slippery surface should be easy with some assistance from the Anti-Lock Braking System and Electronic Brake Force Distribution.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Kia Forte5:

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Kia Forte5 invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here.)

Note: All Kia Forte5 MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
