Large SUVs are taking over the market when it comes to families. They have as much space as a minivan, but are much more appealing visually and often perform better. There are so many SUVs for consumers to choose from these days that it can be a rather difficult decision.
Lexus is a brand that many people associate with luxury and quality. They have a wide range of vehicles, including several SUVs. The 2019 Lexus LX is one of the largest and comes in two different configurations. It sees no major changes for this year.
Smooth and Impressive Power
One of the biggest reason for consumers to consider a 2019 Lexus LX is the engine. It comes standard with a 5.7-liter V-8 that generates 383-horsepower and 403 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Drivers will find this combination to provide them with powerful, smooth acceleration. The cabin remains impressively quiet, especially when cruising at highway speeds. When properly equipped, this vehicle can tow up to 7,000 pounds.
Made for Off-Roading
There is a long list of impressive features on this vehicle that help make it so capable off-road. The 2019 Lexus LX features full-time 4-wheel-drive. It also has an adjustable suspension, a two-speed transfer case, a locking center differential, and crawl control. The suspension can be adjusted quite high in order to let the LX clear boulders. With all of that equipped, there are not many terrain types that it cannot handle.
Standard High-Tech Features
Consumers would expect a Lexus to have cutting-edge technology. The 2019 Lexus LX does not disappoint, coming equipped with an infotainment system that features a 12.3" display. The system uses the Lexus Remote Touch controller, a feature that gets mixed reviews from owners.
Other standard tech features include navigation, USB ports, a 9-speaker sound system, satellite radio, and Bluetooth capability. Available features include wireless smartphone charging, a 19-speaker sound system, a rear seat entertainment system, and a cooled center console.
Features for Comfort and Convenience
There are many features of the 2019 Lexus LX that are focused on convenience. Each model is equipped with keyless start, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and a power liftgate. There are also several glamorous touches, such as leather-wrapping on the heated steering wheel.
Other features that will help make life easier for the driver of the 2019 Lexus LX include rain-sensing windshield wipers, an electrochromic rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener. Leather heated seats are standard. On either version, consumers have the option of adding cooling to the seats. Both heating and cooling can be added to the rear seats as well.
Buyers will likely be attracted to the 2019 Lexus LX due to its standard active driver assistance features. Both two and three-row options come equipped with Brake Assist, integrated turn signal mirrors, a Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Departure Warning, Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane Keeping Assist. These features work in combination with more traditional ones, such as daytime running lights and traction control, to keep drivers and their passengers safe.
Two and Three Row Options
There are both two and three-row options available to consumers. The 2019 Lexus LX with two rows will comfortably seat 5, while the three-row version will seat 8. Either model can easily seat three adults in the second row. Those who go with the three-row version will have 16 cubic feet of space with the third row up and 45 cubic feet with it down. The maximum cargo capacity with all of the rear seats folded down is 140 cubic feet for two-rows and 135 cubic feet for the three-row version.
Despite the difference in rows, each version of the LX is the same size. This vehicle is 78 inches wide and 75.2 inches tall. The wheelbase is 112.2. Three-row versions weigh just 200 pounds more than the two-row ones.
LX Inspiration Series
Consumers wanting to stand out from the crowd and take their LX to the next level can choose the Inspiration Series version of the vehicle. It is completely blacked out, with black exterior paint, black wheels, black wheel caps, and a black grille. Even the headlights have been lightly smoked to go with the overall look. Either black plastic or a dark chrome can be seen detailing almost every part of this LX. While the inside of the Inspiration Series has plenty of black, it also features striking white leather seats.
Many of the optional features for the non-Inspiration Series LX models are standard here. These include the rear entertainment system, heated and ventilated seats, the premium sound system, and a head's up display. Finally, this version of this SUV will feature LX puddle lights.
The new Lexus LX represents a good option for those in the market for a two or three-row SUV with plenty of power and convenience features.
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Lexus LX invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here.)
Note: All Lexus LX MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.
A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
