2017 Toyota Prius c Overview:

About the 2016 Toyota Prius C
The 2016 Toyota Prius C is the fifth model year of the Prius’s subcompact hatchback variant, which began production in 2011. For this model year, Toyota presents four trims: Two, Three, Four, Personal Series Special Edition, and Five. The 2015 edition is significant for representing the nameplate’s first major revision, which debuted at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Most of the changes are merely cosmetic. The front bumper and headlights are revised to give the vehicle a more aerodynamic and aggressive profile. Also, black plastic segments appear on the taillights, the air conditioning vents contain metallic touches, and the climate control cluster is completely redesigned. The 2015 model year marks the debut of the Personal Series Special Edition trim, and each vehicle gets Toyota’s Safety Sense driver-assistance suite as a standard feature.

The hybrid powertrain of the 2016 Toyota Prius C remains a carryover from previous iterations. It consists of a 1.5-liter 16-valve four-cylinder engine with 73 horsepower and 82 foot-pounds of torque, a 60-horsepower electric motor, and a sealed nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery pack tied in with a front-wheel drive layout. The gearbox is a Continuously Variable Transmission: perfect for gearshift-free driving and electronically controlled for a smooth driving experience. Fuel economy is estimated at an outstanding 53 miles per gallon (mpg) for city driving and 46 mpg for highway driving, accounting for a combined fuel efficiency of 50 mpg. Standard features at the base level include remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone operation and streaming audio, and 6.1-inch touchscreen display for Toyota’s Entune infotainment system.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Toyota Prius c

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Toyota Prius c invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Toyota Prius c MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
