Subaru Price Guides::
2017 Subaru WRX Overview:
Known for being a fixture in rally racing, the 2017 Subaru WRX continues to leave drivers impressed. Car critics rave about the sports sedan’s quick acceleration and athletic handling. With a starting price of $27,500, many consider the WRX to be a genuine bargain. Subaru’s renowned Symmetrical AWD system gives you great traction in snowy weather. Several modern safety innovations are now available.

What’s New for 2017?

This year, you can now obtain reverse automatic braking. Subaru also installed automatic headlights on every trim.

What Styles Does It Come In?

The 2017 Subaru WRX is a compact sports sedan. Up to five passengers will be able to fit inside. All versions of the WRX come standard with all-wheel drive. Power comes from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. Buyers can choose from a total of seven paint colors, including Lapis Blue Pearl and Pure Red.

What Are the Available Trims?

  • Base WRX

To no surprise, the base WRX is the least expensive trim. However, it comes loaded with a lot of modern conveniences. The standard Starlink infotainment system now benefits from a more responsive touch-screen display. Some of the other standard items include smartphone integration, Bluetooth technology, and a backup camera.

  • WRX Limited

A larger set of 18-inch alloy wheels help give the WRX Limited a more aggressive stance. You can also take advantage of the heated front seats. Unlike the base model, the WRX Limited comes equipped with a sunroof. A powerful Harman Kardon sound system is optional.

  • WRX Limited

The 2017 Subaru WRX Limited is the lineup’s most luxurious trim. LED low-beam headlights come standard. It also boasts leather upholstery and a push-button ignition. You will be able to opt for several driving aids, including automatic braking technology.

Driving Impressions

With a total production of 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the WRX’s engine feels very strong. You can hit 60 mph in a brisk 5.4 seconds. While a CVT transmission is available, a lot of drivers will prefer the engaging manual transmission. Not only does the advanced AWD system enhance traction in wet weather, but it also promotes better handling. Seat comfort is especially good.

Fuel Economy

Because of the WRX’s high-performance engine, it demands the use of premium unleaded gas. In regards to fuel economy, the manual version will return a rewarding 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Shockingly, the continuous variable transmission is noticeably less efficient.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Subaru WRX

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Subaru WRX invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Subaru WRX Prices above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
