Compare the 2020 INFINITI Q60 PURE vs LUXE Trim Levels. What is the Difference?

The PURE trim package is the base-level model for the 2020 INFINITI Q60. Just like all of the trim levels, it can be had in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. All versions of the Q60 are 2-door coupes that can seat up to four people.

The PURE trim is powered by a twin-turbo V-6 engine. This 3.0-liter engine has 24 valves and an aluminum-alloy block and heads. It also features a water-cooled air-charging system. This base-model engine produces 300 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque for excellent acceleration.

The PURE trim comes stock with a seven-speed, automatic transmission. The transmission system is electronically controlled and also offers a manual-shift mode. Dual transmission-fluid coolers keep things running smoothly. This trim also has Adaptive Cruise Control and Hill-Start Assist.

The transmission system works in tandem with the INFINITI Drive Mode Selector. This gives drivers the choice of five different modes. Each mode alters how the automatic shifting performs. Two Sport Modes allow for fast acceleration, and a Personal Mode allows for customization.

On the outside of the PURE Q60 is a set of 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. These have a five-spoke design and are equipped with a set of all-season, run-flat tires. That means that in the event of a flat, drivers should be able to get home or at least to a safe spot. The PURE and LUXE trims both come with the exact same wheels and tires.

Both trim levels offer rack electric steering. The steering dynamics are further enhanced by a system called Active Trace Control. This system adjusts braking and engine torque to make for better cornering. The overall turn radius for these two trim levels is 36.7 feet. Every version of the Q60 can handle tight turns with ease.

When it comes to the suspension systems, both of these trim levels are once again identical. Up front, there are independent, double-wishbone shocks with Dual Flow Path shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. In back, there are independent, multi-link shocks with coils over Dual Flow Path shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar.

Both trims come with the same ABS disc brakes on all four wheels. Both have LED headlights and rear brake lights. They also offer daytime running lights for better visibility. Dual-chrome exhaust finishers can be found on both models. Intermittent, speed-sensitive windshield wipers are included with both trims as well. Overall, there aren't any major differences in exterior features for the PURE and LUXE models.

On the inside of the Q60, both of these trims offer the same front seats. The upholstery is a nice-quality leatherette. Both front seats feature 8-way power adjustments with manual lumbar adjustments. The shift knob and steering wheel are wrapped in leather. the front and rear get carpeted floor mats on both trims. Retained accessory power means that the windows can be lowered even with a dead battery. This is not just a convenience feature, but a safety feature as well. INFINITI also equips every trim level with a battery-saving feature to negate accidental dead batteries when accessories are left on.

The PURE and LUXE have dual overhead map lights on the inside. They also have two cup holders up front and two more for the rear. Both sun visors provide illuminated mirrors. There are several options for small-item storage in both models. A storage area is located overhead of the driver's seat for items such as sunglasses. There are door pockets on both models. Both trims have dual driver-information displays. These are high-definition displays with an 8-inch screen on top and a 7-inch screen on the bottom. The trip computer offers multiple functions including an outside-temperature display. The steering wheel has tilting and telescoping options on every trim level.

All trims get cruise control with controls mounted right on the steering wheel for the driver's convenience. The LUXE and PURE models have Fine Vision electroluminescent gauges all around. Both offer BlueTooth, hands-free phone systems. The LUXE trim adds an automatic-dimming interior mirror with a HomeLink Transceiver.

The PURE model of the Q60 comes with a six-speaker audio system. There is a CD player, HD radio, MP3 player and speed-sensitive volume controls. There are two USB ports for connectivity and charging of smart devices. These are illuminated so they can easily be found in the dark. A USB flash drive allows for playback of digital files on the WVGA screen.

Bluetooth technology in the PURE model allows for streaming music wirelessly through the audio system. Steering-wheel mounted audio controls allow the driver to operate the sound system without taking their eyes off of the road. The system is SiriusXM compatible, and INFINITI even throws in a three-month free trial.

Moving up to the LUXE trim comes with a serious upgrade to the audio system. This model comes with a premium package by BOSE. It also offers 13 speakers instead of just 6 as found on the PURE trim. Metal speaker grills add protection and an attractive flare to the interior. There are multiple woofers and a silk dome tweeter for excellent sound quality.

There are a few differences between the PURE and LUXE models when it comes to safety and security features. Both have the INFINITI Advanced Airbag System. Sensors let the system know if there is an occupant in the front passenger seat to determine if the bag should be deployed. The airbags are dual-stage bags.

Side curtain airbags are mounted on the roof. This gives some head protection to passengers in both the front and back. The front and second rows get 3-point seat belts. All models of the Q60 feature the LATCH system to securely attack child seats.

Both trim levels have a rear-view monitor for safety while in reverse. Both trims have a tire-pressure monitor that gives specific information on each of the four wheels. An advances Traction Control System makes for safer driving on all road conditions.

These take up some of the impact energy and reduce the risk of injuries in the event of a crash.

The LUXE models add Forward Collision Detection. They also offer Forward Emergency Braking. This system has sensors that can even detect pedestrians in front of the vehicle. Brake Assist rounds out some of the more notable safety features.
