How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Jeep Wrangler
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Jeep Wrangler invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler is an iconic mid-size SUV that's based roughly on the military Jeeps of WWII. The Wrangler name itself has been around since 1986. As the legendary Wrangler continues to evolve and become more modern with each passing year, two things always remain true. The Wrangler always retains its classic retro styling, and it's always an amazing off-road performer.
What’s New for 2022?
The Jeep Wrangler gets a new model for 2022. Jeep calls it the Willys Xtreme Recon. It comes with a set of 17-inch wheels and 35-inch, all-terrain tires by BF Goodrich. This model comes in the four-door body style and is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine. The Willys Xtreme Recon also gets a 1.5-inch suspension lift and some black trim on the outside.
Styles and Configurations
One of the truly unique things about the Jeep Wrangler is the open-air experience it provides. Every model has a removable roof and doors. It's a great feature for those who really want to get closer to nature while enjoying some fresh air. Every Wrangler offers 4X4 all-wheel drive. They're available with either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Wrangler has two different body styles. There's the classic two-door model. There's also a larger version of the Wrangler called the Unlimited. These models are longer, have four doors and provide extra room for passengers to stretch out in. The Unlimited has room for five people while the standard models seat four.
Performance and Fuel Economy
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler is available with five different powertrain choices. There's a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine that makes 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. There's a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 24 valves that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Jeep also offers a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 that produces 260 horses and 422 pound-feet of torque.
The optional SRT HEMI V8 engine produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This engine is the fastest of the bunch and can get the Wrangler from 0 to 60 miles-per-hour in just 4.2 seconds. One exciting newer option for the Wrangler is the available plugin-hybrid powertrain. This model offers the best fuel efficiency with an EPA-estimated fuel-economy rating of 49 miles-per-gallon. That number is reached by using both gasoline and electric power during combined driving in the city and on the highway.
For most of its existence, the Jeep Wrangler has been more about style and off-road performance than refined road manners. The modern Wranglers, however, do offer a smoother on-road experience than in years past. The supportive seats, fantastic suspension system and modern amenities go a long way toward improving the ride quality.
Acceleration is great with any of the powertrains and is downright impressive with the big V8. Steering and handling are solid. The Wrangler can certainly be a comfortable daily driver. During off-road excursions, the Wrangler really shines. It has incredible go-anywhere capabilities that include rock crawling, fording water and plowing through mud or sand.
On the outside, the Wrangler offers automatic headlights. These are halogen headlights on most models. LED headlights and taillights are available as well. There are LED fog lamps for most trims. Variable, intermittent windshield wipers are standard. There's also a rear wiper and washer combination.
The Wrangler is offers with 17-inch, 18-inch and 20-inch wheels, almost always equipped with a set of all-terrain tires. The removable top comes in soft and hard variations. There's a classic, outside tire carrier for the spare. Some models, like the Rubicon, offer unique hood and body decals.
Inside, regular and low-back bucket seats are available. Cloth and leather-trimmed upholstery is offered. A 6-way manual driver's seat with 2-way lumbar support is standard. A heating feature is available for the two front seats and the steering wheel.
The base trim level of the Wrangler gets the Uconnect 4 Infotainment System with a 7-inch touchscreen display. Higher trim levels offer a built-in navigation system and an 8.4-inch display. There's an available 4G LTE WiFi Hot-Spot so that everyone in the Wrangler can get online. The Uconnect 4 system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
For music lovers, the standard setup is an HD stereo and eight quality speakers. There's also an optional, premium stereo by Alpine. The premium system has nine speakers, a subwoofer and a 552-watt, 12-channel amplifier.
Every trim level of the Jeep Wrangler comes with advanced, multi-stage front airbags. There are also supplemental side-impact airbags up front. Jeep has a feature called Full-Speed Forward-Collision Warning Plus. This alerts the driver with audio and visual cues when there's a potential front crash. It then readies the brakes and will engage them automatically if needed.
Jeep's ParkSense® Rear Park-Assist System makes it safer to back in or out of tight spaces. The Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection gives the driver more awareness of their surroundings. There's also a standard security alarm to deter would-be car thieves.
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler is an updated version of an all-time classic. This isn't just any mid-size SUV. The Wrangler is truly unique with its removable doors and roof. The open-air experience and unparalleled off-road capabilities make the Wrangler a joy to drive and to own.
