Jeep Price Guides::
2018 Jeep Wrangler Overview:
The Jeep Wrangler is a unique SUV that has barely changed over the years. However, it has been completely redesigned for 2018. Not only is the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2DR lighter and more efficient, but it also flaunts a more modern look. Luckily, the Wrangler still offers the same amazing off-road capabilities that so many drivers have grown to love. It’s the ideal vehicle for the folks who have a passion for adventure.

What’s New for the 2018 Model Year?

You’ll notice that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2DR boasts a long list of updates. While the new Wrangler still has a rugged character, Jeep engineered it to deliver a more enjoyable performance on the street. The new Wrangler is also a bit more expensive than the previous generation.

What Styles Does It Come In?

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2DR is one of the most rugged SUVs on the market. While the hardtop models are popular, some people will prefer the available soft top. Removable doors enable you to truly interact with your surroundings. Designed with a slightly larger cabin, the Wrangler 2DR can carry up to four people. All versions of the Wrangler 2DR come standard with a tough-nosed 4WD system.

What Are the Available Trims?

  • Featuring roll-up windows and manual door locks, the base Sport trim is for the drivers who don’t need a lot of modern conveniences. However, an eight-speaker sound system and keyless ignition do come standard. Navigation and Jeep’s excellent Uconnect infotainment system are optional. Power comes from a familiar V6 engine. You can also upgrade to a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

  • Unlike the base model, the Wrangler Sport S comes equipped with power windows and air conditioning. While the optional heated seats will come in handy during the winter, the available Alpine audio system offers enhanced sound quality.
  • If you plan to travel on some seriously rough terrain, the Wrangler Rubicon is your best bet. Beefier axles make it especially skilled at overcoming challenging landscapes. Raised fender flares also help separate the Wrangler Rubicon from the other trims. Leather upholstery and LED headlamps can be added for an extra cost.

  • Your dealer also offers several special-edition versions of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2DR. Equipped with an exclusive set of bronze wheels and a tan soft top, the Golden Eagle edition certainly stands out from the crowd. Meanwhile, the Willys Wheeler edition looks extremely tough with its black grille and sturdy rock rails.

How Does It Drive?

In terms of on-road performance, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2DR is a major improvement over its predecessor. It handles much better and delivers a smoother ride on the pavement. While few people will complain about the base engine’s power, the optional turbocharged four-cylinder engine is actually stronger and more efficient. When you do decide to take the rugged Wrangler 2DR off the beaten path, it will not leave you disappointed. You can also enjoy the SUV’s new eight-speed automatic transmission, which is more efficient than the old gearbox.

Fuel Economy

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler doesn’t guzzle as much fuel as before. When equipped with the standard V6 engine, it can return a combined 20 mpg on regular unleaded fuel. Although the optional engine has yet to be officially rated the EPA, you can expect it to save you even more fuel.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Jeep Wrangler

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Jeep Wrangler invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Jeep Wrangler MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
