Subaru Price Guides:
2017 Subaru Impreza Overview:
The 2017 Subaru Impreza is a top contender in the compact car segment. A standard all-wheel-drive system helps separate it from the competition. While the base Impreza is a great value, a performance-tuned suspension makes the Sport model especially fun to drive. Excellent crash protection gives car shoppers yet another reason to choose the Impreza.

What's New for 2017?

Several improvements were made to the redesigned 2017 Subaru Impreza. Families will surely appreciate the Impreza's roomier backseat. It also offers a handful of new safety technologies, including reverse automatic braking and lane keeping assist.

What Styles Does It Come In?

Subaru offers the Impreza in the form of a sedan and as a hatchback. An advanced AWD system comes standard. While the manual transmission is fun, some drivers will prefer the CVT's extra fuel economy. All trims come equipped with the same four-cylinder engine, which develops 152 horsepower.

What Are the Available Trims?

  • Base 2.0i

If you are on a tight budget, the base 2.0i proves to be a great choice. This year, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Drivers will also like the base model's touch-screen display, which is remarkably simple to use.

  • Premium

A set of 16-inch alloy wheels enhance the Premium trim's curb appeal. Meanwhile, heated seats help keep you comfortable during the winter. You can also opt for blind-spot detection and steering-responsive headlights.

  • Sport

The Impreza Sport is the most athletic trim in the lineup. A sports-tuned suspension and torque-vectoring technology enable it to deliver especially sharp handling. You will also be rewarded with goodies such as a 432-watt sound system and a high-resolution information screen.

  • Limited

Leather upholstery and automatic climate control come standard on the top-of-the-line Limited model. In contrast to the other trims, the Impreza Limited can be outfitted with Subaru's EyeSight safety package.

Driving Impressions

Most car reviewers agree that the 2017 Subaru Impreza offers a more enjoyable driving experience. It now handles much better than the previous generation. Check out the Impreza Sport if you want to have even more fun. While the new Impreza is not a quick car, the manual transmission makes it feel quite responsive. One of the Impreza's best qualities is its superb traction in wet weather.

Fuel Economy

When equipped with the CVT automatic transmission, the 2017 Subaru Impreza can return an efficient 28 mpg in town and up to 38 mpg on the open road. Meanwhile, the manual version's highway fuel economy drops to 32 mpg. Fortunately, all Impreza models are tuned to use regular unleaded gasoline.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Subaru Impreza

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Subaru Impreza invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Subaru Impreza MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
