How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Subaru Impreza

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Subaru Impreza invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Subaru Impreza Overview:

The 2022 Subaru Impreza is a highly recommended compact car. A standard AWD system makes it one of the segment’s best options for folks who reside in a cold-weather region. Subaru’s user-friendly Starlink infotainment system and great safety features make the new Impreza even more appealing.

What’s New for 2022?

This year, a new Sapphire Blue Pearl exterior color option has arrived. Subaru also now only offers the range-topping Limited trim in a hatchback body style.

What Styles Does It Come In?

The 2022 Subaru Impreza is offered in sedan and hatchback body styles. There’s enough passenger space for up to five people to step inside. All versions of the car come equipped with Subaru’s full-time Symmetrical AWD system.

What Trim Levels Does It Come In?

Subaru offers the new Impreza in four main trim levels. The most affordable option is the base model. It comes standard with quite a few desirable features. Subaru’s excellent Starlink Multimedia interface provides a 6.5-inch touchscreen, which features Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration and a built-in backup camera.

Drivers seeking a bit more style and enhanced comfort should consider the Impreza Premium. It adds heated front seats and automatic climate control. A Wi-Fi hotspot makes the Premium trim an even more worthwhile upgrade. On the list of options is a power sunroof.

For folks who desire a more aggressive look and a bit more driving fun, Subaru offers the Impreza Sport. Aside from racier exterior treatments, it also receives sport cloth upholstery with red accent stitching. Meanwhile, a performance-tuned suspension helps promote more athletic handling. Another upgrade is the car’s larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with voice recognition.

Atop the range sits the hatchback-only Limited trim. Leather upholstery gives its cabin an upscale touch. A six-way power driver’s seat also comes standard. The optional Harman Kardon premium audio system is a great investment for music fans.

The Impreza’s Exterior Styling

Many drivers are fond of this car’s refined exterior design. While the sedan version will attract some buyers, the Impreza’s hatchback body style is arguably even more visually pleasing. Vibrant colors, such as Lithium Red Pearl, give the Impreza a bit more

Of the available trims levels, the base model looks the least stylish. A more attractive set of alloy wheels elevates the Premium trim’s curb appeal. To give the Sport trim a strong presence, Subaru decks it out with larger 18-inch alloy wheels and body-color rocker spoilers. While the more luxurious Limited trim may not look quite as racy, it’s definitely easy on the eye.

Driving Experience

Regardless of which trim you choose, it will feature the same four-cylinder engine. Subaru rates it to squeeze out a segment-competitive 152 horsepower. According to road tests, the Impreza clocks an average 0-60 mph time of around 8.5 seconds. While a standard five-speed manual transmission makes the Impreza more engaging to drive, some drivers will prefer the efficiency of the optional continuously variable transmission.

Although the Impreza isn’t the fastest car in the class, it does offer impressive handling. Direct steering gives drivers great road feedback. Driving enthusiasts will prefer the more athletic Sport trim. Of course, Subaru’s full-time Symmetrical AWD system is one of the Impreza’s biggest assets. Drivers will have more security when traveling in bad weather.

Fuel Economy

When mated to a manual gearbox, the 2022 Subaru Impreza returns a government-rated 24 mpg town/31 mpg freeway. Fuel efficiency jumps to 28 mpg town/36 mpg freeway with the optional automatic transmission. Few all-wheel-drive cars are as frugal. Every trim is tuned from the factory to use regular unleaded gasoline.

Quality and Comfort

Most people agree that the Impreza has a well-built cabin. Soft-touch surfaces and upgraded upholstery make the higher trim levels feel more upscale. Well-cushioned and supportive seats also promote a comfy drive. While both body styles provide the same amount of passenger room, the Impreza hatchback provides significantly more cargo space.

Safety

In terms of overall safety, the Impreza received five out of five stars from the federal government. It also garnered a good rating in every IIHS crash-test category. Models equipped with an automatic transmission also come standard with today’s most desirable driver-assist technologies, such as automatic panic braking and blind-spot warning. Drivers who are often on the road at night will benefit from the car’s available LED adaptive headlights.

Although the 2022 Subaru Impreza is up against some stiff competition, a few special qualities help set it apart from the pack. Superior safety scores, a standard AWD system, and extremely comfortable seating make the Impreza a fine choice. Experience this car today at your nearest dealer!

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
