Nissan Sentra Overview:

Those in the market for a sleek looking vehicle that offers good fuel economy and tons of standard and available features should consider the 2019 Nissan Sentra. With many different trim levels to choose from, consumers are sure to find one that fits their needs. This vehicle represents a good choice for those seeking an affordable sedan that has a comfortable ride and much of the newest technology available.

What's New for 2019?

There are not many changes to this already well-loved vehicle for 2019. One notable difference is the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to every trim level except the base S. There is also an all-new package option for consumers called the SV Special Edition. This version of the 2019 Nissan Sentra will come with a power sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, Intelligent Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Warning.

Comfortable and Convenient Interior

One of the biggest appeals of the 2019 Nissan Sentra is the roomy interior. It is one of the biggest in its class. Drivers can take advantage of the standard Bluetooth integration that works with both phone and audio controls. Each version of this car also features a USB port, keyless entry, and electroluminescent gauges. When it comes to storage, the trunk has 15.1 cubic feet. This can easily be expanded, however, thanks to the 60/40 split folding rear seats, which brings the cargo space up to an impressive 74.1 cubic feet.

Sporty and Stylish Exterior

The exterior of this vehicle will appeal to many consumers as a result of its somewhat conservative design. That does not mean the look of this vehicle is boring, however. Thanks to its bold headlights, grille, and sculpted flanks, the 2019 Nissan Sentra is definitely an eye-catching sedan. The top trim choice, known as the Nismo, is a particularly stylish and sporty vehicle that features dark chrome and a red stripe. For convenience, every level of the new Sentra features power-mirrors and auto-headlights.

Just Enough Power

Underneath the hood, Nissan gives consumers two engine options that give them enough power while still remaining fuel efficient. Coming standard on most trims is a 1.8-liter inline-4 engine. On the base level S, this is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The SV, SR, and SL all feature a 2-speed CVT transmission instead. The manual transmission provides more power at 130-horsepower compared to the CVT's 124. That being said, the CVT is more fuel efficient with ratings of 29 MPG city and 37 MPG highway, compared to the manual's 27 MPG city and 35 MPG highway.

Both the SR Turbo and the Nismo versions of the 2019 Nissan Sentra are powered by a 1.6-liter I-4 engine. The SR Turbo features the CVT transmission, while the more sporty Nismo gives drivers the choice between that and the 6-speed manual. Either transmission will provide drivers with 188-horsepower. The SR Turbo is estimated to have the same fuel efficiency as all CVT versions of the Sentra. Even with a manual transmission, the Nismo trim gets the worse MPG estimate of the bunch, with an estimated 25 MPG city and 30 MPG highway.

Six Strong Trim Choices

In order to meet every budget and list of needs, the 2019 Nissan Sentra comes in six different trim levels. Drivers can choose from:

  • S: This base level Sentra features a 7-inch touch-screen, rearview monitor, and Intelligent Auto Headlights. The manual transmission on this trim gives drivers three driving modes - Eco, Normal and Sport.
  • SV: Moving up to this trim level will give drivers a push-button ignition, premium cloth seating, and dual-zone automatic temperature control.
  • SR: This trim adds more style and luxury. On the outside, drivers get a spoiler with an integrated LED brake light as well as LED low beam projector headlights. Inside the vehicle, there is heated seats and Intelligent Cruise Control.
  • SR Turbo: This is the first version of the 2019 Sentra to feature the larger engine. There is also a power-glide moonroof.
  • SL: Here drivers will find leather-appointed seats, fog lights, and an upgraded sound system. The BOSE Premium Audio System features an impressive eight speakers, including dual woofers.
  • Nismo: This top-of-the-line trim is both sporty and stylish. It rides on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and features a unique Nismo Aerodynamic body kit. This version also has its own Nismo-inspired steering and suspension. Inside this trim, drivers get a suede and leather-covered steering wheel, red interior accents, and sports seats.

Overall, the 2019 Nissan Sentra is a well-balanced, affordable, and fun four-door sedan that is worth checking out.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Nissan Sentra

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Nissan Sentra invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Nissan Sentra MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
