What's New for the 2018 Toyota Sienna?
On the outside, the Sienna's silhouette has been updated with a distinctive new lower grille and aerodynamic side skirts. The windshield has also been upgraded to reduce wind noise in the cabin. Inside, the layout remains the same. One of the biggest feature updates for the new model year is the inclusion of the Toyota Safety Sense package as standard equipment on every trim. This suite of driver assistance tech includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Toyota's Entune infotainment system has also been upgraded for 2018.
Trims and Features
The 2018 Toyota Sienna seats seven with second-row captain's chairs or up to eight if you replace those with a bench, and has four LATCH connectors to accommodate child safety seats. Class-leading cargo space includes more than 39 cubic feet and an incredible 150 cubic feet with the third row folded flat and the second-row seats removed.
Standard tech features in the base model (L) include a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, five USB ports, Bluetooth, the Siri Eyes Free app, and navigation. It's also equipped with three-zone automatic climate control, Stow n' Go third-row seat, keyless entry, and a rearview camera. This model is only available as a seven-seater.
The LE trim provides seating for up to eight along with a power-adjustable driver's seat, power-sliding doors, sunshades for the second and third rows, a wireless hot-spot, and HD and satellite radio. This is also the lowest trim available with all-wheel drive.
The 2018 Toyota Sienna is also the only minivan that offers a sport edition. The SE model boasts firm sport-tuned suspension, heated front seats with real leather trim, leather-trimmed steering wheel, and power liftgate.
The XLE trim also includes the upgraded front seats, as well as wood grain trim, a moonroof, and proximity key with push-button start. The Limited model, also a seven-seater like the base model, adds a premium 10-speaker sound system, upgraded dual moonroof, and an amplification system that allows the driver to easily be heard in the third rows (a boon for parents).
Notably, the 2018 Toyota Sienna is currently the only minivan available with all-wheel drive. It also gets the same 296 horsepower engine as last year's model, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition to potent power, you'll enjoy a class-leading fuel economy estimate of 19 city/27 highway miles per gallon.
In addition to the new standard safety features described above, the Sienna can be upgraded with rain-sensing windshield wipers, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The minivan has earned the highest ratings in four out of five crash test categories from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration.
How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Toyota Sienna
Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:
- Example: Base Toyota Sienna invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
- What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.
Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)
Note: All Toyota Sienna MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.
A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
