Toyota Sienna Overview:

The 2019 Toyota Sienna minivan is a vehicle that anyone with a need for space can appreciate. With three rows of seating and plenty of interior amenities, it makes sense for a lot of today's drivers.

For 2019, the Toyota Sienna is fairly similar to the 2018 version. All-wheel drive is now option on the Sienna SE, and some interior changes have been made to the entertainment system, making the van more compatible with Apple smartphones. Otherwise, people can expect to see the same great features that have made this vehicle a solid performer year after year.

Trim Levels

There are seven different trim levels for the 2019 Toyota Sienna. At the basic level, there are the L and LE. L comes in front-wheel drive only. It has an integrated backup camera to help with getting out of parking spots. The three-zone automatic climate control is useful, especially when people in different rows prefer different temperatures. The LE is similar, expect it has all-wheel drive as an available option.

The LE with Auto Access Seat is a choice for those who prefer easy access to the back rows. It has dual power sliding side doors as well as a power liftgate, allowing anyone to quickly open things up regardless of their strength, size, or what's in their hands. This version has one power-rotating seat in the second row that can quickly lift up. When adults have to get in the very back, this is a nice convenience.

As mentioned before, the SE is available with all-wheel drive. It differs from the lower trims in that it includes LED daytime running lights and has a slightly different information display.

At the XLE level, seats are leather-trimmed, and the seats up front are heated. The Smart Key System with push button start allows for quick starts. The XLE with Auto Access Seat has that same power-rotating seat in the second row along with the other features of the XLE.

Up at the highest level, there's the Sienna Limited. This has available all-wheel drive, premium leather-trimmed seats and heated front seats, and a parking assist system that uses sonar as its sensor.

Trims that only come with seven seats are the L, LE with Auto Access Seat, XLE with Auto Access Seat, and Limited. The LE, SE, and XLE can either come with seating for seven or eight, depending on whether a bench or captain's chairs are installed in the middle row.

Technology/Entertainment

Technology is another factor that comes into play when deciding which trim to go with. The L uses the Entune 3.0 Audio with App Suite system. The touchscreen is large, measuring seven inches. Apple CarPlay compatibility comes standard, as does advanced voice recognition and Bluetooth connectivity. An auxiliary port can be used to connect the system various devices, and a USB port is also provided.

At the LE, SE, and XLE levels, the standard system is Entune 3.0 Audio Plus with App Suite. The main differences are the addition of HD and Satellite Radio capabilities. The XLE comes with the option to upgrade to Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and App Suite.

For the Limited, more bells and whistles are on display. The Entune 3.0 Premium Audio with JBL with Clari-Fi and Dynamic Navigation plays music through ten different high-end speakers. The hands-free capabilities for this system and the one on the XLE are more comprehensive in an effort to keep drivers' attention on the roads.

Performance

A 3.5-liter V6, 24-valve engine powers the 2019 Toyota Sienna. It has 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. The engine is matched with an eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, giving the vehicle a smooth ride with plenty of potential to quickly accelerate.

The front-wheel drive version of the van gets an estimated 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. The all-wheel drive version gets is just a touch less efficient, at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

Safety

Since many families are interested in the 2019 Toyota Sienna, the company has definitely built the vehicle accordingly. A full suite of air bags protects drivers and passengers from various impacts, and all seating positions come with three-point seatbelts. The vehicle is built with high-strength steel body panels and incorporates energy-absorbing crumple zones and side-impact door beams. There are four LATCH locations in the second and third rows for placement of car seats.

Standard on all of the 2019 Toyota Sienna trims is Toyota Safety Sense P. With this feature, drivers can utilize the automatic high beams and dynamic radar cruise control in certain situations. The system comes with pre-collision and land departure alerts, meaning that the vehicle can detect when a driver is either about to hit an object or veer into a different lane. It can alert the driver and even take measures to prevent accidents.

Also standard is the Star Safety System. This consists of various technologies that help with traction and control, to include anti-lock brakes.

How to Calculate The Dealer Cost of a Toyota Sienna

Formula for Calculating Dealer Cost:

  • Example: Base Toyota Sienna invoice price + the dealer Invoice price of all the options + destination - Holdback = Total Dealer Cost.
  • What is Holdback? A hidden amount that manufacturers give back to a dealer. It is a percentage of the MSRP or the Invoice price.

Total Dealer Cost - Rebate and Incentive + Taxes / Licensing Fees = True Dealer Cost. (You can get rebates and incentives here)

Note: All Toyota Sienna MSRP, invoice and dealer cost dollar figures above are approximate amounts. Prices are subject to change without notice.

A note about rebates: Most rebates are subtracted from the "on the road" figure. In most cases, you can have the rebate if you are arranging your own financing or you are paying cash. If you decide to use the manufacturer’s low interest financing, you do not usually get the rebate. Ask your dealer for details.
